As they set out to scare the teenagers, Nate twirled his hands, making a strong wind blow across the graves and quench the candles, causing panic on the teenagers' faces. One of them suggested they leave, but they shut her up. Nate then made an eerie laugh loud enough to scare them, and they froze. Claire raised her voice, pretending to be a mysterious figure in the fog with horns and glowing red eyes. They all screamed and left, leaving Claire to materialize and sit on one of the tombstones laughing evilly.

“If I was really a monster, I would’ve sent his whole arm instead of just a hand picture.” I nearly threw up. Mom held me tighter instantly. “You thought that bloody hand belonged to Gab?” Clara burst into loud laughter again. “No, no, no… Gab’s tiny hands are still attached.” Relief crashed into me but Clara wasn’t finished. “Those cute little hands still need to grow bigger,” she whispered creepily. “After all… one day they’ll wrap around your throat and squeeze the life out of you.” “She’s insane,” Julius muttered under his breath. Clara suddenly screamed loudly through the phone.

They entered the haunted house as a group, swallowed by fog, flashing lights, and grotesque monsters popping out of the dark. Zoe screamed at every corner, practically hanging off Melinda, who threatened to hex the next actor who touched her. Chloe shrieked when a clown lunged from behind a curtain, then broke into nervous laughter, clutching Diana’s arm. Diana strutted through unbothered, blowing kisses at the “undead,” and announcing, “Scary is cute on me.”

To escape from the basement I made the furnace explode...I killed people to get away from them, Kenny. I became a monster to escape monsters. I would never make that up," I declare, and Ken's eyes widen as he digests my words.

Toby gulped in fear and started to urinate in his trousers as he couldn’t take his eyes off of the thing that stood two inches apart from him. The thing had raised its large hands to strike Toby, who had already closed his eyes, prepared for death, before it looked at the jersey he was wearing and started to scream with different voice pitches at the same time, causing it to run into the denser part of the forest. Toby ran as fast as his feet could carry him and arrived at the cabin to meet his friends who had obviously experienced something horrible. ‘‘Guys, where’s Eucharia?’’ Toby looked around, ‘‘tell me!’’ his eyes opened wide as bad imaginations made their way into his mind.
