They ate the food in silence. After eating, they moved to the living room debating on which movie to watch. "Let's watch Lion King" nafisa suggested . "And why? "Khadija questioned. "Do I look like a baby to you "she added. Nafisa dropped the topic of watching cartoons before her cousin would take it far, they decided on watching The Meg which nafisa found weird . She doesn't like action or romantic movies, she would rather watch cartoon for the rest of her life. The movie was scary to fawaz, he wasn't familiar with such big fishes.

After two days of high temperatures and intense boredom, he remembered the three books. Sam pulled out the one with the Mummy on the cover, because it looked the most innocuous. It was entitled the Ninth Pan Book of Horror Stories. He wasn’t the least bit prepared for what he found inside. The first three stories involved emasculation, murder and burning at the stake. In his fevered state Sam felt he was not only watching the characters’ suffering, he was experiencing it along with them. He flung the book at the wall and then hid it again, wishing he could burn it like Jinnot, the young girl in the third story who was burned alive.

Finally, he said: “Guys, there’s something I need to tell you.” It sounded like a confession, especially because they were in the middle of a heave-to and near bedtime, but a confession upon the mention of the Nagas could only mean something terrible. Though curious, Aki wasn’t sure if she was ready to listen to a scary story. Sasha began his story innocently enough:

Lydia stared at me for a moment before letting out a long sigh. “You’re unbelievable, but what if something happens." she muttered. “Lydia, stop thinking like that,” I said, shaking my head. “I don’t know,” she replied with a suspicious look. “I’m just saying… the guy sounds like some rich hotshot. What’s his name again?” “Jack,” I answered, almost bursting into laughter. “See? Even the name sounds dangerous,” Lydia said dramatically. “What if Jack spreads your legs and eat you alive. It’s been a long time since you got a proper...”

Just until I found a boyfriend that my dad liked. My manager, Hilda was supposed to pick me up by nine, this morning, so I had like five hours left. I got up from my bed, wondering how I was going to pass the time as I sluggishly trudged to my bathroom. I suddenly felt the hairs on the back of my neck rise and I felt my stomach churn anxiously. I began to look around my room as paranoia set in. I didn't understand why I was feeling this way. I felt like someone was here with me and by that someone, I meant the vampire.

Ken asks while trying to make the conversation a little lighter. "I swear, Ken. Big huge hairy creatures that shift between men....and ugly wolf-men hybrids...They also talked about vampires at the place they held me for four days. We don't live in the world we think we do...I swear on mom. The girl I escaped with...they shot her in the back of the head. To escape from the basement I made the furnace explode...I killed people to get away from them, Kenny. I became a monster to escape monsters. I would never make that up," I declare, and Ken's eyes widen as he digests my words.

"What is your name?" She asked, reaching out to envelop his small palm with her medium one. "Bryan. But you can call me Bunny." Anna jolted. Bryan... Wasn't that the same name that she always heard in her dream? Did it mean that the little guy was connected to the past she was striving not to remember?
