On the Origin of Humanity

On the Origin of Humanity

"This is meaningless. We're not going to come up with anything helpful." "We're nearly there," I replied as I saw Ricky on the walkway above us. "Let's just go through this final one quickly so we can have some food and some much-needed rest. Tomorrow will be a momentous day for us." We've arrived at the last door on the ground level. The word 'office' was written in bronze lettering on the door. I pushed the door open with the toe of my boot since it was ajar. It creaked as we approached, alerting everything within us to our presence. We paused for a split second, listening for any indications of activity inside. We took a cautious step inside the room when no one greeted us.

We all have secrets

We all have secrets

Ava also had an entrance to the DOD from her room but I had to disable its many reasons. I pushed my clothes apart standing face to face with the picture both I and Ava had painted there. I was met with a simple painting of a girl and her gun. Beside the painting there was an eye scan and a code press lock, putting the various pins inside the door slides open. Of course, that wasn't all the security for the Den of doom (aka DOD). There is a second door with voice recognition and hand scan which again only Ava and I have access to, my favorite quote plastered on the wall. When we created this room we were merely 14, we sure watched many movies, it took a lot of convincing too.

I just started to read, and I'll say the suspense in the prologue hooked me up so badly, can't wait to find out what happened in the past! Also, the characters are interesting, and the interaction between the siblings are so adorable and relatable. Way to go!

This is such an interesting read! The prologue breaks your heart and we see how Jennifer has turned (dare I say)...cold. I love the way you write from her pov, and I can't wait to see how the story unfolds. Highly recommended, well done author!

The Lycan

The Lycan

There were no paintings or small tables decorating it. Scott walked through the hallway until he came to a wooden door. The door looked normal. Nothing unusual. Scott took a deep breath and opened it slightly. The pungent smell of old wood was noticeable. Scott peeked through the door, making sure no one was in the room. Once he was sure no one was there, he entered. There were small wooden tables about chest-high, topped with glass cases containing objects. Scott approached one of the tables. He stared into the glass case. His brow furrowed. Inside were black wolf claws. Scott looked up. On the wall was a painting of a man wearing a furry cloak. Scott moved to the glass case next to it. Regretting Divorce

Regretting Divorce

It was as if he’d stumbled straight into a dressing room from the backstage world of a theater. Scott was in the corner, bent over a carton box, rummaging through it frantically. Rashid wanted to look at him too but Scott was right in front of him on the other side of the wall. As he moved to sneak a look, his foot landed on an object and a crisp, crunching sound echoed in the silence. Hunter shot Rashid a grimace while Scott’s eyes darted to the wall-door with alert suspicion. Scott straightened up, eyes wide and hands reaching out to grab a rod (broken out of a clothing rack stand) from the floor. He lifted it over his right shoulder as his fingers tightened around the metal shaft. He adva

The Door at Midnight

The Door at Midnight

When I opened the door, a blast of cold air hit me like a wave. It reminded me of that scary time after a really tough delivery, when I was shivering and truly thought that I might not make it. Matthew Smith's voice came from behind me, sounding totally surprised. "Shirley? It's freezing out there. Come on in!" He did not even seem to care that I was sporting a six-month old baby bump. He pushed me aside roughly, but he was super gentle with the person he was bringing inside.

THE DOOR

THE DOOR

The buzzing of the flies, the hum of the refrigerator units, the traffic—it all died. The brick wall behind them—the dead end—dissolved. In its place stood a rectangle of absolute darkness, seven feet tall. It cut through the reality of the alley like a surgical incision. It was a Door. The frame shimmered with a pulsing, violet light. The center was a swirling vortex of black, but deep within, stars spun in a bottomless void. It hummed with a violent, agitated energy, reacting to the raw emotion in the alley—the fear, the hate, and the crushing weight of the betrayal.

Bloodscript: Survival Game of the Reborn

Bloodscript: Survival Game of the Reborn

The labels over the doors here were smaller and more cramped, as if the system didn’t consider these paths as “premium content.” JAX / JAX MARTIN – EARLY RELEASE. JAX – BETRAYAL EXIT. JAX – HEROIC DEATH. JAX – COLLATERAL. He stared up at the one that had his handle in caps. JAX – BETRAYAL EXIT. The glow around the frame was subtler than the Core Fusion door’s, but it was there—a faint, steady pulse, like a heartbeat under a shirt. “Yeah,” he muttered. “Of course that’s the one you want me to open, you voyeuristic piece of junk.”

the more he clicked, the furious he became. "What the fuck is that?" It was another guy standing at the door. He came in to stare closer at the screen. "Isn't that Pence?!" He looked at Deathrow and Diggy in confusion. "What's the meaning of this? Are they dead?!" "Calm the fuck down, Shorty!" Deathrow yelled at him. "And close that door behind you, will ya?" Shorty walked fully into the room, closing the door shut. No one would be able to come in from outside if it's sealed on the inside with an additional bolt, so he sealed the door with the bolt. He folded his hands. "What's going on?"

Make Me Yours (A Steamy Collection)

Make Me Yours (A Steamy Collection)

Amanda Mylessexy guy
“Happy fucking birthday, man.” The building’s unmarked, just a steel door with a single red light above it. Scott knocks, three sharp raps, and the door swings open before the echo fades. A guy in a black tank top, arms sleeved in ink, nods at us. No words. Just a jerk of his chin, like get the fuck inside. The air hits me first. It's thick and humid. It smells like sweat sex, and rubber My cock twitches, half-hard before I even see what’s waiting. The room’s dim, lit by red bulbs that turn everything into a fever dream. And then I see them.

“Maybe the last owner hated what they saw.” “Yeah,” Phillip said. “Like girls hate you.” “Shut up, Phil.” Luke’s shove cocked Phillip’s arm for payback—until Scott caught the wrist mid-swing and held it. “Are you done?” Scott asked, voice flat. A beat. Both boys looked down. “Sorry,” in unison. At the end of the hall, a white door waited under a brass knob dulled to the colour of old coins. Scott twisted. Hinges screamed.
