“Going to the gallery this morning?” “I am,” she said happily. Selena worked part-time as an art buyer at Early’s Art Gallery. She sat down next him – between him and Christopher. Giggling could be heard several feet outside of the room as Bruce handed Selena the paper. They didn’t have to wonder who it was. They knew. Joanna and Trevor glided into the dining room arm in arm as they gazed at each other. “Did I mention you look brighter than the sun this morning?” Trevor oozed.

Selena’s eyes widened when she heard this request. “But sir, Sapphire is not an artist from Venus Entertainment. Why would we help her out? This will be considered treason to our own company.” Selena could hear what the other person was saying and she agreed with the other person. “Leo, do you really want to ask the PR team from Venus Entertainment to help me out? Everyone knows I am an artist from Lancaster Universe and you two are rivals. What would people think?” She reminded him. “You don’t have to overthink it. After all, you are my girlfriend and future wife. One day, you will be the first lady of Venus Entertainment.” He started gently as he caressed her hair.

She painted Sister Bella, a portrait of her that Selene plans to give as a gift and a form of gratitude for her warm welcome. Lastly, she painted the sky, to remember the perfect weather of being sunny but not too hot, an excellent day to watch it in its bluest form with different forms of clouds. Selene felt peace, unlike with her other artworks that were all too creepy according to Faye, she was proud of those she did for today. “Oh my…” Sister Bella covered her mouth with her hands and her eyes filled with so much joy when Selene showed her her portrait. “This is lovely, Selene. He left me to keep looking through them as he continued to take off the sheets from everything. Behind the paintings were more art supplies, an easel, and many different art books. It looks like mom had studied art on a college level. “There is hundred if not thousands of dollars in art supplies here.” I said to Alec. “Kristen, look at this.” Alec called from the back. Walking to the back, there was a massive mirror. Alec had opened it to reveal it completely filled with jewelry. “What’s the envelope?” I asked that was taped to the top.

I wanted to retort, but my words got stuck as my eyes caught a trail of sweat moving down her neck to between her breasts. “Don't worry; you are at the right table.” I couldn't say anything, my eyes glued to the mini tattoo in her cleavage. And her breasts, of course. I couldn't say anything for a second. Not because of her invitation. Because of the tattoo. A small crescent moon inked just below her collarbone. Selena used to draw moons everywhere. On napkins. On notebooks. On my damn contracts when she thought I wasn't paying attention. My jaw tightened.

Selena muttered, staring at the crescent moon from where she sat with a stick of cigarette stuck between her fingers. "Hungry?" Gina asked. "No," Selena bluntly replied, taking a drag at the cigarette. "Cruella called," Gina muttered as she dropped the glass of alcohol before her. Selena hummed and shook off the ashes of the cigarette, her eyes still fixed on the lonely moon. Gina noticed the calmness and followed her eyes. "It is just like you. Beautiful, alone, and different," Gina said, smiling. Selena finally looked away and tilted her head to the side, her eyes piercing into Gina's eyes.

I draw closer, almost out of the bed, to Celia. “ Can you tell me why I should avoid her? I should know what I’m running from.” “Sure, I’ll. I’m always ready to expose her evil deeds .” That was easy. I thought she wouldn’t be answering me, but it seemed I was truly her family now. “ Selena is obsessed with Arthur. I’m saying she's obsessed, because I’m sure she still has it in her with the way she looks at him.” That explains, their eyes and the way her lips curled into a hidden smile. But that wasn’t right. She was now his cousin, or does it not matter to them?

There is an art to watching a woman unravel. It is almost surgical: observe, wait, prod the exact nerve until the reaction is inevitable. I have practiced finer things than people—on fortunes, on reputations—but Selena is a study all her own. She is unpredictable in the best possible way. Her edges are raw; her resistance is elegant; her anger rings truer than most people's love. It makes everything worthwhile.

It feels wrong and unnatural, like the symbols are alive, feeding off something they shouldn’t be. A strange, low sound comes from Selena’s mouth. It’s not quite a hum, not quite chanting, but it sends a chill through me all the same. She keeps making that noise as she works, her focus unshaken. Once she’s done drawing, she places her hand over the patterns, pressing her palm against them like she’s claiming them.

"Together." Selena's eyes locked on Ken's, a fierce determination burning in their depths. "I'll be back soon," she said, her voice low and even. Ken nodded, his expression grim. "Be careful." Selena's gaze flicked to the Eclipse, still clutched in her hand. She nodded, tucking the artifact into her jacket. With a swift motion, Selena raised her hand, her fingers weaving intricate patterns in the air. The shadows around her seemed to coalesce, darkening into a swirling vortex.
