I felt more than fierce—I felt like my true self. I was born to be this white wolf with three long tails, charging toward the beast that threatened my family. The alpha was the only one who hadn’t transformed. Why? Was it so difficult for him to allow us, the quadrupeds, to communicate with him? Or was the problem exclusively with me? But Lucien couldn’t possibly know that this wolf was, in fact, his wife... could he?

He nodded, seeming to understand what I was saying. “I also write code,” I said quietly. “What?” Carson asked, not hearing what I had said. “I write code. Nobody knows that. I have kept that my deep, dark secret. I have not made money off my efforts yet, but that is a big part of my plans when I get out on my own. I have customers lining up wanting my services, thanks to my IT teacher,” I shared.

Ryan was gone. I looked at my side table, to get a glass of water and there was a paper with something written on it. I took it and started to read. It was Ryan's message for me.
