“Funny guys,” I laughed hesitantly, looking around for someone else. “You can come out now. Great job on the Junior prank.”
I stood in silence, biting my lip until I tasted blood. My feet were rooted in one spot, waiting for anything to suggest that I was simply a victim of a prank at the hands of those in charge of the annual post-summer prank. Each class had a prank every year. The Sophomore prank was to place Principal Summer’s car on the roof of the school. It was the best prank ever at our school. However, moments bled into one another, without any way to tell the time. My heart clenched, and worry overtook me.
