Kade&Sera The sun had barely crested the horizon when Sera took her last look at Blackwater territory. Morning mist curled low over the dark pines, softening the edges of the place that had shaped her life in chains. The cold air stung her lungs, but she welcomed it. It felt like a cleansing—like the world was helping her scrub away the remnants of a place she never wanted to return to. Kade waited beside his horse, quiet and patient. Beta Wyatt and Gamma Westin mounted up nearby, talking in low voices as they secured their gear. Lyra, a tall, sharp-eyed warrior with braided hair and a surprisingly warm smile, offered Sera a small nod of encouragement.

Serena knew it was likely a trap, however she needed Skylar in the building for her plan to work, so with a loud groan Serena began shuffling her feet towards the property. “Remain outside.” The redhead ordered her subjects, before locking eyes with Serena once more. “Just in case this one has any mutt friends that plan to try something funny.” She giggled, as she ran her finger down the side of Serena’s cheek. “So pretty.” She tutted. Serena could see the woman much clearer now. Her skin was pale enough to convince her Skylar hadn’t seen sunlight in years. Her piercing blue eyes complemented her auburn locks perfectly, along with the crimson lipstick she wore on her lips.

Serena’s hand skimmed across the shelves, searching—until her fingers stopped on a book with a blood-red spine. The crest on it mirrored the sigil carved into her mother’s ring. “This is it,” she whispered. Elias leaned in, brow furrowed. “That’s a royal mark. From the Valecourt line. That book hasn’t been touched in generations.” Serena hesitated only a moment before pulling it free. As the book opened in her hands, magic burst forth—wild, golden light twisting like flames, pages flipping in a flurry until they stopped on a single name: Serena Valecourt.

Serena instantly replied. Erin cried out instantly, "Oh my! Really?" "Wait, you know her?" There's wonder in Serena's tone as she moves back from Erin a bit. "I did read about her in the books! Isn't she the reason behind the 'Bride War' between Vampire Region?" Erin enthusiastically asks Serena. But then her crooked reaction was screaming, "What?" Calming down for a bit, Serena replies as she rubs her face roughly while sweating like a pig, "Did you by any chance read any black diary?"

She definitely knows my mate, but why would she be asking about her? “What do you mean? Who are you?” I’ve stepped closer, and her eyes are stuck on me. They are growing bigger and bigger. I guess my aura is enough to have her feeling this way, but who knows. “I… I’m Serena. I came here to meet with Akia. We were sitting and talking, but then I felt pain and darkness took over.” My hands clench at my sides. I don’t need her to say anything else. I know exactly what she’s telling me, and I want to throw up.

Serenity's POV I felt so heavy. Like a weight was pressing down on my entire body. I felt so uncomfortable and just wanted to get away from it. It was not so much pain, as it was pressure. Suddenly, as if falling asleep, I found myself at the packhouse on the Alpha floor. My surroundings were so familiar, and the smells of my family were all around me. It was so comforting. I felt so peaceful. I walked toward my bedroom, as if dragged... or maybe even possessed to do so. I am not entirely sure why I am going there. Its early morning. I have things to be doing! Pup training and helping in the pack hospital. But I keep going, walking down the familiar hallway.

The Queen's Blood Aria stared at the page in stunned silence. The girl drawn in the ancient book looked exactly like her same silver-streaked hair, same defiant eyes, same pendant resting at her throat. She reached out and touched the sketch, half expecting it to vanish like a dream. “It’s not possible,” she whispered. Sera sat across from her, the candlelight casting long shadows across the wrinkled planes of her face. “Possibility is not your concern anymore, child. Truth is.”

Serena's POV My feel eyelashes flutter as I gain consciousness. My eyes open to a dim room cloaked in darkness. I try to lift my head up to look around my surroundings but I feel a loud ringing in my eyes before I lose consciousness, I hear the distant sound of a voice filled with worry. "She's ......awake, call the.......pack healer now!" I open my eyes again to a dark room only this time when I lift my head all I feel is a dull ache, my mind blank.
