Serene added softly, almost reverent. I stopped pacing, hands tightening, heart steady but heavy. “Broken… how?” I asked, voice low, deliberate. Her tone sharpened, cutting through the silence. “A bond… that should never have been severed.” Fists clenched, breath uneven, voice trembling then firm. “No… You’re saying this is–” I couldn’t finish. The room held its breath, and then Serene gasped softly, a sound that made my chest jerk. She leaned slightly forward, almost as if feeling the words in the air. “It was created the moment fate was denied.”

"And I'm so so sorry for breaking your heart. Let me make up for it!" Serena felt a pain in her heart. It's true. One time she did love her. She thought she could escape from all of her pain by being inside Melody's loving embrace. Melody was there for her when she went through trauma and woken up with nightmares after nightmares. She comforted her and made her feel loved. Until the day she hurt her and broke her heart. She still had a small amount of feelings left for Melody, but her heart belonged to Noah.
