Serpent Ancestor Chapter 1 Novels & Stories

And as the golden glow intensified, I whispered again, softly this time, not as a plea but as a promise, “I am here. I will not fail.” The spring trembled in response, as though acknowledging me and my words. I opened my eyes or at least I thought I did and then, felt the water shift around me. The golden hue swirled faster, wrapping my legs and arms in light, weaving through my hair. Every memory was punctuated with sensation: my mother’s warmth, my father’s strength, the sorrow of loss, and beneath it all, the promise of power the legacy of the first blood that the Serpent Queen had tried to erase.

The old Japanese man has not returned since the incident, and I got more convinced that it is more than the smell; he knows what my blood can do. ‘You told him,’ I muttered with a crack in my voice, after all, there was no other excuse I could come up with to explain the old man’s fright when he saw my blood. Lord Owen must have said something of its acidic nature. It killed the ones who touched me at birth, killed… my mother, but somehow managed to ignore my Father.

"Please... Stop..." He ignores me. I hear shouts of surprise from some of the vampires, my pack must have found us, that was much faster than I had expected... But no, it's Nixie, he has transformed from a small boy into a large water dragon. He seems to be drawing power from the swamp around us. The water snake's itself up his legs, then around his body. The power shoots out from him, cutting the vampires holding me to ribbons.

There was a circle that was surrounded by huge rocks. We walked to the center of the circle and faced each other. She produced a dagger that had a dragon's head carved into the hilt and a golden chalice. She said, "Please hold out your hands." We each held out our hand and she cut each of our hands and let the blood drip into the chalice as she said, "Chloe, you are now granted a dragon spirit to accompany Saige, your wolf spirit." Then she turned to Aidinth and said, "I need you to breathe a little fire into the chalice." Aidinth breathed fire into the chalice, and she handed it to me as she said, "Chloe, please drink after Aidinth stands behind you and prepares to catch you." Aidinth moves

Her dismay burned my skin like ice. I had but moments before this vision came. The water rippled. A shiver ran along my spine. The room seemed to grow dark, as though the moonlight retreated, reluctant to witness what was to come. I braced myself, and then the first vision splashed forth like a wave: A man standing on a bloodied hill. The Serpent King. Audacus. He was entrancing.

Slowly, the purple mist took its final form, the INYOKA. The mother was alarmed at these strange activities; she tried to run away again, but her feet were not letting go. The large, venomous purple snake crawled towards her, and the mother freaked out as the snake climbed on her body, gliding its scaly self around her until it reached the baby.

The thrill of discovery surged through her as she pushed past the serpent's ferocity. Suddenly, the serpent lunged forward with terrifying speed, its gaping maw wide open, revealing rows of glistening teeth. Instinctively, Gabriel charged forward to intercept, meeting the serpent head-on, claws swiping through the water with feral precision. Their movements were a blurred dance of adrenaline and danger, the urgency of the moment igniting something primal within them all.

She explained. I listened intently, absorbing her words. It was a revelation I hadn't expected, a reminder that the bond between dragons and their riders was far more intricate and mysterious than I had ever imagined. How was Freya related to Drogo's ancestors? O didn't understand? She was nothing but an Omega werewolf. "How is she related to your ancestors? " I asked, looking at my Dragon. Drogo's nod meant she had no idea at all. "At first I thought it was the mate bond, but it seems it isn't. Freya had just shifted into her wolf form and I felt the gene of my ancestors inside of her. This is something I don't understand, the only one who could unfold this mystery is the king of the dragon

The catfolk attendants grinned wickedly as they approached. Carps were born with a fear of cats, and I was no different. Terror coiled in my chest as I shielded my belly with trembling hands. "Stay back! I'm the daughter of the Carp Clan's chief! The child in my womb belongs to His Majesty! Lay a hand on me and he'll make sure you suffer for it!" The catfolk attendants faltered, hesitation flickering in their eyes. Their steps slowed as they glanced back at Lyra, awaiting her command.

I reassured him, "It won't come to that, Father. Today, the shadowfox intervened at the crucial moment. They say surviving great danger brings good fortune, and your luck is only beginning." After the physician saw to Father, I left with the Titan Ape. Titan Ape perched on my shoulder, his voice filled with admiration. "Selena, with your father and Yasmin both licking their wounds, you're the one who's come out on top!" He was right, everything unfolded just as I planned. I knew Yasmin came back to life, just like me. When she stole the serpent egg, I foresaw the chaos it would bring. My father, the King, would stop at nothing to get what he wanted.
