Serpent Ancestor Chapter 1 Novels & Stories

The resemblance was uncanny — the statue’s delicate bone structure, the lift of her chin, the mark on her collarbone. “This is her,” Serena whispered. “My ancestor. The first Moonbearer.” As if responding to her words, the statue’s chest lit up with a radiant white glow. The ground trembled faintly, and before their eyes, a book floated out from beneath the statue’s robes, resting mid-air. Serena reached out, and the book landed softly in her hands. The leather cover was warm to the touch. As she opened it, the first page displayed a single phrase in glowing ink:

I couldn’t even catch my breath before the ground trembled violently again. Something was coming. I forced myself to focus. Minseok’s voice echoed in my head. *Listen to me... you have to listen...* The chasm widened further, and the creature that began to rise from it was enormous. Its massive, scaled body twisted and coiled as it slithered upwards, its red eyes burning with malice. It looked like a serpent, but there was something distinctly humanoid about its shape. The skin shimmered with an eerie iridescence, reflecting the faint glow of the walls around us.

I questioned all at once. She shook her head. "I don't know," then she paused."You're tied to the serpent. You have a connection with the serpent." She finally said. "What?" I exclaimed softly as she stared at me with innocent eyes. "What are you saying?" Camila asked her. "The baby in my vision is the queen and she's having a connection with the serpent." Anna said. "Tell me exactly what you saw." I said to her. She inhaled. "I saw a lovely baby, her hair as white as snow smiling in her cradle. A black serpent slithering around her in happiness." she paused.

But that first night, in the night the stars hid, I had no name at all. I had only the storm, the silent cradle, and the cold white star that refused to leave its post above the manor roof. And somewhere, far beyond the Veil, in a kingdom where the sun had not risen for a thousand years, something ancient stirred in its sleep. A serpent with eyes like molten emberstone opened one lid. It tasted the air with a tongue made of shadow. And it knew (before even I did) that the wheel had begun to turn again.

Zane hugged her tight completely ignoring all the bickers that were going on, on the other side. "I am here. I will always be here." He comforted her. "Come out you!" He turned to see his father shout at the other. "Okay... You said it." It was a moment after when they had a movement coming down form wherever it was. They could hear some slithering movements coming from the front. The purple head is the one that came first. The red eyes distinct in the open. It showed it's whole body which was also purple and slim. "You're a sepernt as well." Adanna exclaimed having seen too many serpents in one day.

The snake hissed louder and reared up, its massive jaw opening, revealing rows of dagger-like teeth. Her voice deepened unnaturally. “I command you, creature of curse and earth—burn.” A force exploded from her body like lightning breaking free from clouds. Fire, dark as blood and bright as the sun, surged from her palms and wrapped around the serpent. It shrieked like a dying banshee as it writhed in agony. The flames danced along its body, coiling and tightening. In seconds, the monstrous anaconda fell, charred and disintegrating into the ash that now blew away on an unseen wind.

Lyra looked at the creature. Then who is it? Aiden's eyes filled with terror. The creature smiled. I am what your father became before you were born. The Mother Before Creation whispered, The King of the Dead. Lyra froze. The creature raised its hand. And every dead soul in existence rose. End of Chapter 129.

It appears the creature still do have a little concern over who rode his boat though he didn't answer, I had expressed my thanks. I looked at the serpent who had came again. Looking around, I was once again thrown forward when the serpent hit the boat using its tail, I plunged forward again and the serpent who had expected this to happen seemed to have smiled as if it had seen its own victory. As the serpent opened its mouth, snapping it wide to devour me, I lifted my chin and fearlessly touched the serpent with my hand, turning the scaly body of the snake to turn darker in time. I had figured that if I could turn fresh grasses and flowers to dust, why not a living being? The serpent was sho

It’s a flaming bird. A phoenix. **I hope you’ve enjoyed Ancalagon: The Last Pure Dragon. This story will continue in Rise of the Phoenix, Book Six of the Elemental Dragon series.

“You are heir to more than Sterling blood. You are heir to the forgotten throne. Heir of the goddess cast aside.” Her throat tightened. “No… I’m just—” “You are the flame reborn,” the spirit interrupted, voice fierce. “And the world will bow. Ash to ash. Fire to fire. You will rise, or you will burn.” The fire surged higher, enveloping her in light. She felt heat course through her veins, fierce but not destroying. It was power. Claiming her. Becoming her. Tears blurred her vision. “I can’t—” “You already are,” the spirit whispered. “Queen of the Ashes. Heir of the Forgotten Goddess.”
