I wasn't sure lf it's potency, but it seemed to be reducing rapidly and by every breath too. Cain had warned me that they wouldn't hold forever, especially if the shadow kept feeding off him, but a small part of me had hoped for a miracle, no matter how small. My eyes seek out the flames first, and only then do I take notice of the shadowy black mist pouring out of Alaric, like an inky black abyss, it swallows up the flames, leaving him completely unharmed. I am left stunned by the power of the shadow element. The only element that is even more rare than fire. The shadowy black mist is still pouring out of him, even with the flames extinguished. It extends from Alaric, surrounding me on all sides and enveloping me, leaving a chilling trail wherever it touched.

I whispered, hot tears pooling rapidly along my cheeks. The sharp click of the doorknob turning instantly paralyzed me with fear. Hearing the heavy, distinct footsteps of the monster approaching the bed, I renewed my frantic struggles against the ropes. "I wouldn't even bother trying that if I were you, my love," Archie murmured smoothly. When I snapped my head in his direction, I was met with a sickening, triumphant grin. He looked genuinely amused by the sight of me lying there completely defenseless.

His shirt was gone, revealing his smooth chest and perfectly sculpted muscles that would have made Michelangelo weep with their beauty. I reached out, tracing my fingers along his chest.

But the end of what was unclear. I searched the abyss and found nothing. Fear overwhelmed me; images started to appear one by one. Cleo, Prue, work, mum, and the last was Damian. Each disappeared as if they were smoke. Whisps filled the air and dissipated one at a time until there was only one left. The whisp from Damian floated across to me. It morphed into a guiding light as the ticking became faster. Something deep inside felt the pull; I needed to follow it. Step by step, one foot in front of another, I followed his light. It led me to a door in the middle of the abyss. The door stood solid in front of me as the whisp passed through it and disappeared.

"The pack house – it's collapsing!" I turn to see our ancestral home, the heart of Shadowmoon Pack, crumbling before my eyes. Without thinking, I sprint towards it, knowing there are still pack members trapped inside. As I reach the entrance, a deafening crack splits the air.
