I couldn't even smell her scent so I couldn't follow her. That night I couldn't get her off my mind, sleep was not an option. I need to find out who she is and why I am having a hard time detecting what she is. My wolf said she is a werewolf but I can't smell her wolf on her at all. Shadow thinks that she has no clue what she is. He also thinks that she was never part of a pack as we can't detect any pack scent on her either. Witch I guess would have made scents on why she has no wolf yet if she has never been around our kind she would develop at a much slower pace than the rest of us.

“This came in today. A diary from a woman who wrote about losing herself — and finding truth in the shadows.” Curious, I flipped through the pages. The entries spoke of love lost, identities stolen, and a secret hidden beneath the surface of things. It was haunting — familiar in ways I couldn’t yet explain. --- That night, I read the diary until the words blurred. The woman’s story felt like a mirror, reflecting the pain I hid deep inside. Then, a sudden sound shattered the quiet — my phone buzzing again. This time, a photo appeared: a dimly lit street corner, the silhouette of a woman standing alone.

"Dad, you made a pinky promise—you'd never split me and Elaine up. If Elaine can't come with me to the big ceremony, then count me out." James's bold stance said it all—Malcolm was totally wrapped around his finger. Malcolm paused, then turned to me with a look that was all apologies. "James is still new here and without any friends. I'm worried he'll get spooked. Let's just say yes to Elaine tagging along, okay?" He seemed worried I would get the wrong idea, so he quickly said, "However, just so we're clear, you're my Luna, the star of the ceremony, and that's set in stone."

His face was mostly covered by his hood, his eyes dark and unreadable maybe he just came back from a fight or something. “Uh… hi?” I said like a dumbass that I am. He didn’t look up. “You’re the kid who beat Natalya.” “…Wow. News travels fast.” now everybody calls me kid great. He looked up finally, those eyes pinning me like I was some new toy. “They call me Shadow,” he said, voice low. “You snore, I break your nose. You touch my blade, I slice your fingers. “Hey, got any spare change?” someone said in a rough voice as I waited outside the coffee shop. I was just hanging around, waiting for Lennox’s driver to show up. I looked down and saw a messy-looking guy sitting on the ground. His clothes were dirty and his hair was a mess. Then I realized—it was Shadowbird under all that dirt and the fake beard. She was good—really good at disguises. “Sorry, I don’t carry cash,” I said loudly so people around could hear. Then I lowered my voice. “What are you doing here? This isn’t part of the plan.”
