“Sensible. If he slips up, and with this little war he currently has going, he could slip up, you guys don’t want to go down with him.” “Yeah, we know. We always mask up when we go, too,” Shadow added. “And Tempie wigs it, so we’d be hard to identify. You want to play?” He gestured to the game. They had, Raven decided, reached the end of Shadow’s knowledge on the subject of Gregory Holmsworth. “Nah,” Raven wanted to watch Shadow. “You play, I’ll watch.” “Okay.” Shadow was animated as he played the game, and for five minutes, Raven could look at him blatantly feeding that hunger, without having to meet the other man’s eyes and justify it, until Shadow cursed as he missed someone and was shot.

But those rogue wolves were not easily deterred, their hunger for blood and violence evident in their relentless advance. As my eyes darted anxiously between Louie and the approaching rogues, something strange caught my attention next to Archie. From the shadows of trees, a black wolf emerged suddenly. Its entire form was as dark as night, like a living shadow that seemed to dim the moonlight around it. The shadow wolf moved with eerie silence, taking advantage of Louie's distraction to launch a surprise attack, its mouth aimed straight for his vulnerable neck.

Alpha Connor Finley BlackPaw of the BlackPaw pack is starting to have an increasing problem with rogues. They’ve been testing the security fencing around the pack trying to find their vulnerable spots. BlackPaw increased their patrols and brought all pack members closer to the center of town where they had an underground shelter for emergencies. He needed help so he called a neighboring ally, the Shadow Mountain pack that was located about an hour away. Alpha Kelvin Shadow dispatched two squads of his elite shadow warriors to assist the BlackPaw pack.

(THIRD POV) The dim light from the phone's screen flashed faint shadows on Collin’s face as he hovered over Margaret yet again, careful not to let his breath stir her. Her body was still lying, cocooned in the blankets, a few strands of her dark hair falling loosely across her sleeping face . The slow, steady rise and fall of her chest reassured him once Margaret was really in deep sleep. .Perfect. Confidence surged in him now, his movements growing more assured.

We can see through the darkness luckily because so can Bane and his men apparently and they advance as soon as the fog covers the whole area. ‘Now Tristan.’ I mindlink our Beta, and he howls from somewhere to my left. Shadow rubs his head against Dawn, and she reciprocates his affection before the first rogue is over us. Shadow takes him down without a hitch, tearing his throat out. Zehra continued, “Your partial shift reacted with the Knot’s energy. And now… the Shadow Guardian has been released to hunt you down.” “So that creature last night—” “Was just the beginning,” she cut in. Suddenly, the earth outside trembled faintly. Black mist crept from the trees, slithering toward the cave like cold fingers. Halvar swore under his breath. “Too soon. We’re not far enough from the activation zone…” A towering figure emerged from the fog. Not like the creature before—this one was solid. Nearly human in shape, armored in living shadow, with dim violet light glowing beneath its skin. It had two arms—and four scythe-like claws fused into them.

They wore black hoods, with their long horrible faces. "She has arrived," one said. "You were not supposed to survive the Portal" another hissed. "Who are you?" The tallest stepped forward. "You cannot stop what is already set in motion," the tallest said. "But we can stop you." He pulled out a chain, glowing dark red. The others did the same.

An Alpha growl. “Adrian,” I hiss, then ignore him as Nyx pushes further in the dark passage. Suddenly, Nyx stops moving. My gaze drops and I see it. I can tell he already knows what that shadow is too. The shadow turns slowly towards us and busses when it sees us. Its claws scrape against the floor, then it vanishes into the air.
