Hunter let the shadow fall from him like shedding a coat.
“Ill met, subditus,” Poe said. In one hand, he held a sword about two spans long with a bowl-shaped guard, and in the other a Barroco dagger.
“Ill met, Master,” Hunter said, giving a slight bow and unsheathed his own sword.
Hunter was quick, far quicker than average, but Poe was a Master of the blade, and Poe’s quickness would avail him little against Poe’s skill. And that was just the beginning of his disadvantages.
