She Blinded Me With Library Science Novels & Stories

Elizabeth was by breath and my bane. I watched her go, guarding her diplomacy books in her arms. She paused in her step, visibly fighting the urge to look back.. to walk back. But reason won and she walked on. I deceived myself into thinking I would be able to concentrate after that. All the words jumbled on the pages, they blurred every other minute and soon I was losing light. I gripped my head, amused by the mess that I was. When it was certain, I would get no more work done, I closed the books and returned them to the shelves. The last thing I did was sign out, allowing my fingers to graze her name a few lines above mine, before leaving the pack library.

LYRA As I step through the library doors, I inhale deeply, the musty smell of old books is one of my favorite things. The she-wolf behind the desk offers me a fake smile as I pass her desk and make my way to the computers in the center of the library. Taking a seat at the only free computer, I make the mistake of glancing back and the front desk and the woman behind it is glaring at me. A shutter travels up my spine as I try not to think about which one of my mates she may have been involved with before I came along.

Every time this creature moved, it’s bones grinded and clattered together. I wrinkled my nose at the thing when that musty smell wafted past, clinging to the creature that stalked the aisles. Its eyes were covered in a milky film. It was different from the way Abel’s eyes looked at Castle Mist. The Librarians were clearly blind, and clutched in its gnarled fingers were books. Helena and I locked eyes, and seemed to have a similar idea. We needed to get away from the librarian. I hadn’t a clue how the library would lead us anywhere, but I was willing to work with baby steps.

The Nun In The Library I IN the library, dust motes danced in the lone shaft of light that shone through the stained-glass window, illuminating the rows of bookshelves that were properly lined in the back. Sister Mary, her habit a stark silhouette against the warm glow, traced a finger along the spine of a theological text. The scent of old paper and beeswax polish clung to the air, a familiar comfort that came when she was reading books. Today, however, an unfamiliar tremor rippled beneath her skin. A new scent, sharp and vital, cut through the accustomed quiet: sandalwood and something else, something musky and undeniably male.

But nothing did. I frowned. Maybe I was out of practice? It could also mean that the information I was pursuing wasn’t within the confines of this library and my location spell wouldn’t work. I knew it was a long shot, but seeing the immensity of Alexander’s library, I thought the odds were in my favour. As I turned to leave, a blue flash appeared near one window. At first, I thought it was nothing, but as the blue light grew brighter, it called to me. Upon closer inspection, I saw a book spine glowing with my blue magic.

But my wolf wouldn’t stay quiet as its voice growled inside my head, restless and insistent. "Library." My eyes flew open, a shiver jolting through me. A sudden force yanked me back as if something had seized my very soul. Pain shot through my skull, my head snapping backward. My vision blurred. My pupils burned. And then silver light burst from my eyes. “What library?” June asked, confusion etched on her face as she followed my gaze. “Wait…” I turned sharply to her. “Didn’t you say no one was allowed inside the library?”

I’ll know exactly what he expects of me. She had to find where he kept his private documents. She had to launch a mission of her own, right under the nose of the Blind Beast. "To a long, prosperous union," Damien said, raising his glass, breaking her train of thought. "To family," Avery amended softly, her mind flashing to her grandmother, pale and fragile, hooked up to machines. She took a sip of the wine. The rich, dark liquid coated her tongue. She actually appreciated the deep, earthy undertones, completely forgetting to act like Kendra.

ALTHEA. “Can you take it off?” Blade asked as we continued walking. “I can.” I showed him, but I put it back on right away. “I want to wear it. I think Alas was trying to enchant or hypnotize me at the library, but it didn’t work because of this.” He stopped walking and tugged on my hand, forcing me to stop and face him. “What were you doing with him at the library?”

I couldn’t wait to finish the novel and then upload it to Zoodago, the sight where I published my works and had so many loyal readers. As I typed, a sharp voice cut through my concentration. "Humans aren't welcome in this section of the library." I looked up to see a stern-faced librarian glaring down at me. She had on round black glasses and a plastic-looking hairdo pulled back so tightly, I could see the strain around the edges of her face. Her eyes were cold and completely filled with disdain. "Excuse me?" I stammered, taken aback by her hostility. "You heard me," she snapped. "This area is reserved for special students. Not humans."

Sophia’s POV I could only notice the vivid scent of ink and old books in the library. I could seee shelves as high as they could possibly be above me. They were filled with books as old as the Moon Goddess. I put my hands on the rough surface of the wood, but my head still felt troubled and uncomfortable from all the events that had happened that day. I won. I proved myself. But still, something dawned on me, it was a whisper, a glimpse of unease, and it just wouldn't leave me alone. It wouldn't let me have the moment.
