Huge clouds of dust were kicked up on impact, which covered everything in a layer of grime and dirt.

A huge wall of orange fire and hot steel fragments burst from the surface of the sea the shockwave hitting the container ships hull with a force that threw me sideways across the iron deck. The yellow survival capsule was torn into a thousand pieces of flying metal its wreckage spinning through the air like burning shrapnel. The shockwave broke the remaining glass on the navigation console sending a shower of white crystal pieces raining down over my shoulders as I crawled on my hands and knees toward the rail my fingers clawing at the iron as I stared into the dark foamy whirlpool where the man I loved had vanished to save our family.

I aimlessly went through her things, desperate for any clue about her. In the back of the nightstand drawer, I found a hidden compartment. Inside was a thick journal.
