Claimed By The Mafia Boss

I cradled my head in my hands, silently wishing she’d quiet down, but her wails only grew louder. Frustrated, I shut my laptop, grabbed my coffee, and decided I wasn’t going to get any work done here. Five minutes later, I ended up at a nearby bookstore, hoping for some peace. Most of the people here were gathered for a book club meeting, their voices a low hum in the background. I found a small table tucked away in the corner, perfect for some solitude. At least it was quiet here, a welcome change from the chaos of the café. I settled in, opened my laptop, and got back to work. My fingers flew across the keyboard as I wrote about Emiliana DeLuca, a powerful business mogul and matron, who wa

The Mafia Man wants my Heart

The Mafia Man wants my Heart

His face was obscured by the shadows, but something about the way he stood—composed, calculating—made my stomach tighten. Then, just as suddenly as I noticed him, he disappeared. A passing bus blocked my view for barely a second, and when it was gone, so was he. I swallowed hard and turned back to my coffee. It’s nothing. Just your imagination. But deep down, I wasn’t convinced. The book club was hosted at a small event hall lined with posters of famous authors and upcoming literary festivals. A crowd of about twenty people gathered, chatting excitedly over wine and hors d’oeuvres.

Laurel wilderfifty shades elena
Lila pressed her face to the glass, giggling at the display of books and paper cranes hanging from fishing line like tiny messengers of hope. “You okay?” Jack asked softly. Elena nodded, though her heart beat like a drum in her chest. “Yeah. I just... I still remember when I couldn’t even say the word ‘survivor’ out loud.” “You don’t have to say it,” Jack said, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. “You’re living it.” Inside, a small crowd had already begun to gather. Chairs had been set up in neat rows, and a table at the front was stacked with copies of her book. There was a pitcher of lemon water, a tray of cookies, and a nervous-looking bookseller smoothing out the event sign.

If not love, Whatelse?

If not love, Whatelse?

She slowly got herself out of the bed, her mind still replaying last night… Williams’ eyes, his voice, that unspoken weight pressing between them. “Why does he stare at me like that?” She murmured. Enough. Today, she wouldn’t drown in old memories. She needed… something. She got dressed fully, Pulling her jacket tighter, she stepped outside and walked briskly until the small bookstore came into view. The bell above the door chimed softly as she slipped inside. Her eyes wandered in search of that one book till she saw it: “The weight of silence.” Her breath caught. She pulled it down, fingers brushing the cover. The woman’s voice echoed in her mind: “That book is about healing”

ONE NIGHT STAND WITH MR.BILLIONAIRE

ONE NIGHT STAND WITH MR.BILLIONAIRE

Melinda’s POV There’s a particular silence that comes after the storm. Not the silence of absence, like loss. Not the silence of fear, where every footstep might be danger. But the kind of quiet where your breath slows. Where your bones realize they can rest. Where your heart doesn’t need to brace anymore. I didn’t know that kind of silence until now. The book was out. The press had done its dance. River had spoken, the grave had been named, and Rachel had finally, finally been seen.

The Silent Goodbye

The Silent Goodbye

Charlotte greeted her with an easy smile, then added with feigned surprise, "Why didn't you call and let me come get you? Oh, right. I forgot you can't speak." She said it casually, like she was commenting on the weather. Nissa tugged the corner of her lips into a polite, silent smile and sat down. Charlotte suddenly added, "Oh, by the way, I ran into Benjamin's uncle yesterday. He mentioned how much they expected you two to have a baby." The atmosphere at the table froze instantly. Benjamin scoffed and said, "I'm not letting a mute give birth to my child. What if it turns out mute too?"

SILENCE

SILENCE

My feet seem to move by themselves and before I knew it, I was standing behind her. Scanning over the contents on the pages I felt my body react. Clearing my throat, I look away and she jumps in response, a soft shriek escaping her lips. "Atlas." "Sensei!" Her face goes blank and she snapped the book shut. The cover catches my eye and I smile as realization sets in. "So that's what you read in school, Ms. Winters?" She glares at me before looking away.

Chasing Dylan

I asked Callum. "You'll see in a second, sugarplum." He replied with a smirk, kissing my cheek. We found the seating, and saw around thirty people sitting, many with the same book in their hands. They were chatting quietly, waiting for the author. I instantly recognized the book as A Black and White World by one of my favorite author's Zara Jones. My palms began to sweat as we sat down in the back. "Oh my God Callum, I could die right now." I whispered in excitement.

Had to add one more comment because my last didn’t have enough room lol. But I love the representation for women of color. I don’t see enough on here and have seen some pretty cringe worthy stuff when they are featured. This is a breath of fresh air. And the boujie comment was hilarious.

Stranger Than Murder

"Billy? Huh, oh yeah, I'm fine. Yes. Lunch today, right." "Good, can't wait." She smiled again and left him with his jaw hanging open and a deer in the headlights gaze. When she got back to her desk, she sent Nicki a text asking him if he wanted to meet her for dinner and they could maybe go over their book club reading together. They met on Thursdays every other week for their book club. Most of the time, she got through half the book before she gave up and read the last chapter. Nicki would fill her in on the way over to the meeting what parts she was missing.
