BACK TO PRESENT Emmanuella finally left me to my own peace and once she left I decided to see if I could get a well deserving rest before someone comes up. I was so lost in thought even though I was fast asleep at the same time that I didn't notice someone tapping me or should I say, I was dreaming that I didn't notice. "My love,my love, why are you sleeping? Wake up" I repeatedly felt someone calling out to me but I didn't budge not until the tapping got worst that I woke up to see a tall fair skinned boy standing beside me with a high afro hair cut. His hands raised up probably getting ready to tap me again.

Slowly, I closed my eyes, seeking refuge in the comfort his proximity provided. As sleep finally began to claim me, the dream returned with startling clarity. I found myself standing in a dense, shadowed forest, the scent of pine and earth enveloping me. The sky above was painted in the pale hues of twilight, casting an otherworldly glow on the surroundings. Then they appeared—two white wolves, their fur shimmering under the ethereal light. Their eyes, pools of ancient wisdom, met mine, and a familiar sense of urgency surged through me. "Please," I called out, my voice echoing into the forest. "I need answers. What do you want from me?"

“Ancient book. Leather bound. Old as fuck. Smells like blood and ink and… royalty.” My stomach dropped. “The awakening book.” Alerion turned slow. “The what?” I swallowed. “Dad left it here. Said it was the full guide to wake up royal bloodline powers. Not the watered-down version the Council has. The real shit. Rituals, warnings, everything.” Zane whistled low. “So they just stole the cheat code.” Lysander punched the wall. Plaster cracked. “I’m gonna rip their fucking throats out.”

It had felt like someone else had borrowed my body and used it for those hours of the fight. I felt powerful that day. My blood had been heated as I cut down wolves after wolves without tiring. I hadn't wanted that fight to end that day with how much I had been striving off the violence and power. That person hadn't felt like me. I hated violence, tried to avoid it. And Darius had said my eyes flashed silver. I keep having dreams of a silver wolf, night and night again. I've dreamt about it since that full moon without fail. The scar at my chest tingles sometimes.

“You came here for a story, and instead, you found a sexy werewolf soap opera. Good job.” I glanced down at the old book I’d found—the one filled with legends and dark tales of Blackthorn Ridge. It was still lying open on the table, the pages worn and yellowed with age. My eyes skimmed over the words, searching for something I might have missed, but the stories were all the same: packs of wolves, rituals, blood magic. All things that felt a little too close to what Lucian had warned me about.

A book with pages that bled when I touched them. The healer had warned me before he died and told me about the Book of Shadows and its connection to my dreams. He said it was the only thing that could help make sense of what was happening to me. That the secret was older than our kind, and knowing it came with a price. I didn’t care anymore. I stopped in the middle of the clearing, my chest rising and falling somewhat steadily. Rage boiled in my stomach, burning me from the inside out. "MAKE IT STOP!" I screamed into the night sky, my voice breaking.

I couldn't help but linger for a moment, staring at it as if it were a loaded gun, waiting for me to pull the trigger. With a burst of energy, I crossed the room, dropped onto my bed, and flipped open the book. The pages smelled of nostalgia, faintly musty yet deeply familiar. My eyes quickly skimmed past the opening chapters, which smelled oddly of roses and soft conversations, before settling on the surprising backstory. In this world, witches mingled with supernatural creatures in a kaleidoscope of forbidden love. It was like something straight out of my daydreams, but with dark undercurrents pulling me in further.

Far from Vesper City's glittering towers. A metal door slowly opened. A hidden room. A forgotten place. Dust floated through the darkness. A man stepped inside. Stars POV- I felt like I had been floating around in a black abyss for hours. I couldn’t feel anything or hear anyone. It was just me. Was I dead? Did my body finally decide to give up I wondered. The last thing I remember before I blacked out was a giant black wolf with blue eyes, he was growling at me. All of a sudden I felt a strange warmth wrap around me. I closed my eyes as tight as I could this was it I thought.

"Please don't leave me." Tears running down my cheeks as I ran after the figure that was quickly out of my sight. My little legs helpless to catch up. The darkness scared me, I hugged my bear bear tightly and squeezed my eyes shut. "Elora. Elora. Are you ok my dear." I woke to someone shaking the shit out of me. Sitting up in the strange bed and taking in my surroundings. I must have had that dream again. They were getting pretty frequent now. They never made any sense. The person leaving me was a blur. I had no idea who or where it was. People told me it was just a dream but it was always the same.
