We advanced through the brush, silent as mist. The path wound between jagged rocks until we reached a broken bridge that stretched over a chasm. The old structure groaned with every whisper of the wind. On the other side, faint blue symbols glowed, runes pulsing like beating hearts.
Kaine hissed. “A trap.”
I stepped forward, testing the edge. The wood cracked but held. “They think I’m stupid enough to walk into their spell blind.”
