She remembered a sense of calmness that washed over her. She quickly looked at the time and let out a breath of relief once she saw that it was four in the morning. She could listen to the sounds of metal hitting metal. They were already getting everything ready. She sat up in bed to see an arm across her thigh. Turning on the lamp on her bedside table she saw that the Dark Prince was sitting on a chair beside her bed. His body was bent over and his head rested at the side of the mattress.

She mumbles, her eyes opening just a crack. “Get some sleep, Princess. I am just finishing up some work.” I answer softly, running my fingers through her hair. She hums, her eyes closing again, and in seconds she is fast asleep once more. I want to curl up on that couch with her and hold her tight, but I put off work last night to help her and if I want to spend more time with my Princess later, I will need to get it done tonight before we head home.
