A sweaty, bare chest rocks up into the back of my neck. Someone stomps on my toe. But we’re waiting. At least, I am. The room goes dark. But the danger had only just begun. ​The lights in the ballroom dimmed. A single spotlight fell on the dance floor. Lucas stepped forward and pulled my hand away from Edward with a firm tug. "Sorry, Mr. Smith, but Sophia is contracted only to dance with me tonight." ​Lucas pulled me onto the dance floor. A mournful yet intense violin melody began to play. He grabbed my waist and pressed me forcefully against him. With every movement of the dance, he spun me as if I were a lifeless doll.

The door swung open, and we stumbled into an enormous white hall. Rows upon rows of metal tables and chairs stretched before us like a forgotten assembly line. The fluorescent lights buzzed above, too bright, almost sterile. The room was vast, echoing, institutional—like a lecture hall or indoctrination chamber. A giant white screen loomed at the front of the room. Printed on it, stark and unmistakable, was the symbol: a bold, double N.

Says the bouncer after getting our tickets. He holds out a plastic bin. We look at each other and agree to put our phones in. Now our only contact with Leon and Bruno is gone. We will only know if his father is here if we see him. The bouncer opens the door, and I follow Liam inside. The music instantly made my head pound. It is sensual, but they have the bass almost shaking the building. The lights are super dim. There are strategically placed red lamps above each attraction. I see a hallway to my left that has different doors. Each one you can peer into and see a different sex position.

It was funny how I'd been kept in the dark for five years, as I'd fallen for her claim of wanting to keep a low profile again and again. It wasn't that she didn't want to celebrate it. It was that I didn't deserve to be celebrated. With my eyelids drooping and my breathing growing faint, the paramedic started crying out of desperation. "Want to dance, Anna? We can show them the garage monkey version of a slow dance."

“You don’t know what you’re saying.” He leaned in, his breath brushing my ear. “I know exactly what I’m saying. And so do you.” The music grew, couples beginning to dance. Charles tugged me into his arms, his grip uncomfortably tight. I moved stiffly, every step mechanical. My eyes wanderedsearching, deceiving meuntil they found Nathaniel standing at the edge of the dance floor, watching me with a hunger that stripped me bare. Charles spun me, saying, “Keep looking at him like that and I’ll remind you who you belong to.”

Duncan stated, trying to calm his friend's nerves. While gulping down a glass of tequila, something caught his attention, it was a petite brunette girl dressed in a grey trousers and a baggy white top as she passed through the crowd of people dancing, she is so different and out of place in the club unlike other female humans who were dressed in skimpy gowns, but something about her sparked an unknown feeling in Marcus and it all seemed weird to him because he had never felt so...possessive and wanting to have someone. Her face was not clear enough but he watched every of her movements, as she constantly bites her lower lip and Marcus couldn't help but have the urge to feed on those lips.
