ELIJAH I settle onto the bench beside the tree, stealing a glance at the book nestled in his lap. Harry Potter. Perfect. "Who's your favorite character?" I ask, trying to sound casual. He glances up, his dark eyes meeting mine for a fleeting moment before diving back into the book. Well, that's not surprising. He doesn't know me, after all. I’m just another stranger. "I like Dumbledore," I blurt out, hoping to spark a conversation. Not my most smooth move. I am going to fail today.

Max’s POV I had one hell of a day. I was sore, but nothing that the sweet Minerva Jones cannot fix. She whipped me up something from her little portable drawer like bag of potions and dropped a few of it’s yellow content in my tea. She reminded me of professor Snape from my favorite sequel, Harry Potter. The only difference was, miss Minerva was a happy soul. Snape was grumpy.

Nix took a deep breath and finally answered his question. “Yes, a girl and boy. Sage and Slyven are their names. I know you can already guess that Sage is a princess. Slyven is werewolf. I didn’t know that could happen.” Nix told her father, then looked at the two sitting near her. Sage seemed happy that she would be in a group of people that wanted to know her.

They were wholly opposite and she couldn't for the life of her think about how to choose one over the other. Strange, she thought, wondering why she felt the need to compare the two. She'd only known Marwan for less than a month and Muslim even less so. Stathis didn't say anything just raised his hands in to show it's okay. Davina then turned back to Cynthia and Ada to apologize. She looked a bit embarrassed.
