My name is Nerd. Not my real name but the one given to me by my course mates. Because I behaved like an actual nerd. If there was a personality more extreme than introvert, then that's what I was. I was always found isolating myself from everyone else. I never attended any social gathering except it was about quiz or debate or educational talk shows hosted there in college. I had no friends because no one wants to make a friend with someone whom they can barely communicate with.

"I mean, I'm a nerd, you have this ghetto hip-hop style, with a baseball cap and loose clothes. We try to look cool, but we don't fit in." "Meaning?" "Meaning we're both out of place. I paused turning towards him annoyed "I...I'm not a nerd...I just do well in exams" "That makes you a nerd" He chuckled picking something from his pocket "Here" He tossed it which I barely managed to catch. I looked at it and it was a hot pack.

I nodded, "Very much. This could be our temporary base. It's farthest from the entry points, it's well within the confines of the house, far from prying eyes." He looked at me, smiling, "Well look at you, an expert in siegecraft yeah?" I shrugged, "I used to play World of Warcraft everyday when I was little, I have an eye for these things." Luciano looked at me, impressed, a mix of concern and admiration on his face. "How did you not get bullied in school for being a nerd?" I smirked, "The ugly boys get bullied, the sexy girls get the attention." That seemed to set him off as he threw back his head, laughing hysterically, his deep voice booming over the room .

I couldn’t believe my luck – he was walking down the hallway towards me. My heart skipped a beat as I realized he was even cuter in person. He had thick, black-rimmed glasses and a mop of curly brown hair that fell over his forehead. He looked like he belonged in a library, buried in books, and I couldn’t help but feel drawn to him. I watched as he rummaged through his backpack, pulling out a stack of textbooks and a shiny new calculator. I was impressed – this guy was serious about his studies. But I also knew that being a self-proclaimed nerd could sometimes make it hard to make friends.

I usually prefer to just plug in my earphones and shut out the world. I wonder how Alex and Jace are handling this. They're probably not having as much trouble as me.
