Cole brings it to me, sitting back down on the couch while the kids roll around with their toys on the rug in front of us. Maeve is slack in Aviva’s arms, both of them fast asleep on the opposite couch. I smile at the image and quietly rip the paper away. It’s a book. Smaller than average and bound by fresh leather. There’s no title engraved on the cover. I look up at Cole, thinking he’d be smiling and a little pink in the cheeks in anticipation for my reaction, but he looks grave. I open it. It’s a printed rendition of the Book of Whispers.

The cover was adorned with intricate, silver runes that shimmered in the light, and the pages were filled with stories, poems, and songs that Kie had collected from our adventures together. The book was titled "Whispers of the Stars," and it was a testament to the special bond between us. As I opened the book, the pages revealed memories, laughter, and tears we had shared, all woven into a tapestry of words that spoke directly to my heart. "Thank you, love, I love it!" RAVEN/ARELI’S P.O.V My hand pushed the cover to close the booklet I had been reading with the back of it staring back at me. I picked it up with much joy, moving it to the pile of files I had been going though. A breath escaped, my smile tipping up, spreading such warmth it nearly had me giggle. My toes curled, biting my lip. Even staring up was bliss with my eyes resting on the other table at the other end of the room. My hands sweat, biting my lower lip with it too moist, my lips glazing through.

I suggest, giving my shoulder a slight shrug. Kenji picks up a book and passes it over to Levi to place beside his book on the other table. Levi looks down at it and grimaces before setting it next to the ghost book. My brows rise in curiosity as I walk over to see the book. Forbidden Sex Magic stares back at me in bright red letter, the picture of a naked woman being rammed into by a centaur graces the cover. “Well that is disturbing.” I tell them, placing the book back down and putting the ghost book on top of it to hide the cover. Levi and Kenji let out loud spurts of laughter behind me as they watch my discomfort over the book.

I couldn’t make out any lettering on the binding. I wondered just how old this tome is. I was so eager to touch it and possibly date it that I took it from Shae before John could.
