While presiding over a transnational meeting, I received a distressing call from my daughter's kindergarten teacher. "Mrs. Payton, a kid drew a massive clown on Anna's face during nap time! No matter how much I try to wash it off, it won't come off!" I immediately rushed to the kindergarten. My daughter, Anna Payton, was sobbing at the door. Her usually fair and tender face was now red and swollen. The clown drawing on it was particularly eye-catching.

First scene started with a huge clowned monster, stained with blood around his mouth, chasing and throwing daggers at people at the park. Eve screamed at the top of her lungs just as the people in the movie. God, I have never laughed so hard. "Babe, it's only a movie. Calm down, please." I switched it up to something else without looking. "It's not funny, Ian. Is that the kind of movies you see?" She was trying to catch her breath. "Nah, i'm into movie documentaries but that would be too boring for you and you might sleep off five minutes later."

To be honest, we have already watched this movie a couple of times but still. We started watching the movie and my parents started to snuggle. The lights are out but I can still hear them. They are talking, and it’s not always about the movie. They would whisper to each other ‘I love you’ and ‘how long has it been since we snuggled’. Usually when we watch with the Clowns, we would tell them to shut up and we would always win by a vote, but now I am all alone. “You guys I am right here. I can hear everything you are saying.”

I wonder why… it took less than fifteen minutes. When he was done painting my face, Clara stuck out her tongue at me. She looked crazy which made me laugh and call her Joker while she called me Harley. “So Will, which movie do you want to watch?” I asked. "Dragon ball!" He exclaimed He sat between us as we watched the anime. It was quite funny and interesting. "Mommy, where are you going?" Will asked. "I wanna use the bathroom I'll be back soon," Clara said "Ok, Mommy, please don't leave me" He added, causing me to squint my eyes at them both.

A real smile and the smile doesn't look forced, it was natural. This smile, I hadn't seen in a long time..I used to wait for that smile, I could do anything to see that, I understand, it's not that hard for him, just that, the smile wasn't for me. Then Clara suddenly laughed loudly. “Oh! Wow” she said, “ I think you want to cry watching these two love birds” I started sweating all over my body. I quickly raised my head, forcing myself to smile but it was hard. “I… I am fine, Clara”

She wore a name-tag that said 'Tee-Hee'. "Listen.." Milo began. "I'm really sorry about your popcorn machine, okay? But it wasn't me who did it. It was my asshole friend. I wouldn't damage your property like that." The clown tilted her head. "Well, someone's gotta pay for it.." she said in a voice that had a subtle Southern twang. "And you ruined our performance." Milo stared at her. "What..? No, that wasn't me either." The clown called Tee-Hee looked at him with a confused expression. "I thought I heard someone screaming out about clown pussy?"

When we were done, we crawled onto her bed, curling up comfortably with a bowl of popcorn balanced between us. “Movie?” she asked, already reaching for the remote. “Something dumb,” I said quickly. “Please.” She grinned. “Say less.” The movie played loud and ridiculous, filled with jokes that didn’t require thinking. Halfway through, just as I was starting to relax, my phone buzzed again. The sound cut through the room like a blade. Clara immediately paused the movie and turned to me. “Want me to read it?” I hesitated, fingers curling into the blanket. My chest tightened again, but not as badly as before.
