Tangled In Scales
The sky stretched endless above him, a brilliant shade of deep twilight, as if the sun had just set but the stars had not yet appeared.
And wrapped around him, like a living shield, was the snake.
Not just any snake—him.
A massive, dark blue cobra, its scales gleaming under the ethereal light, its powerful body coiled loosely around Ashwin’s waist.

The serpent’s body was cool against his skin, firm but not constricting. It nuzzled against his neck, its breath warm as it flicked its tongue out, tasting his scent.
