The night was broken by a scream, and when the group hurried outside, they discovered a shadowed figure standing at the edge of the camp. “Who’s there?” Lucan demanded, drawing his weapon. The figure stepped forward, its voice echoing unnaturally. “You thought you could destroy me?” Lena’s heart froze as recognition dawned. It was the Keeper not as a physical being, but as a manifestation of the orb’s lingering energy. “I am eternal,” the Keeper intoned, its form shifting and flickering. “And you, Lena, will be my new host.” Kaden stepped protectively in front of Lena, his blade drawn. “Over my dead body.”

"There's no turning back now." The ancient site loomed ahead, a clearing surrounded by towering trees that seemed to whisper secrets from ages past.
