I called, voice low but commanding. The guard posted near the stairs straightened like he’d been caught dozing. “Sir?” “Get two horses ready in the stable. I want them warmed up in fifteen. I’m heading out for a ride.” He didn’t question it. “Yes, sir. Any preference?” “Warbred stallions. The fast ones. Not the ones you give to the pampered council members.” He nodded and turned away briskly. I walked down the hall, boots thudding lightly against the polished floors. I didn’t make a sound otherwise. Not even a hum.

She had taken him in payment for a debt owed by another Don to her and this was going to be the first time she rode him, it suited her sense of the irony to take him on after the meeting she had just faced down. The stallion was a stunning dark chestnut, and he stood more than sixteen hands, he had four white socks and a white star on his forehead, that was his name, Stella Bianca, [White Star], he pranced as the groom held his reins tossing his glorious long mane as he did so.

The vistas gorgeous. Dillon and Chase were also interested in the horses. "You see that pretty little chestnut mare in the corner?" Chase asked. Mitch and Dillon said yes. "She's Pretty Girl, Lauren's horse. Now, look at my horse, the stallion in the corner beside her. If Midnight could, he'd jump that fence, sniff around enough until he had her for himself. He doesn't want any other mare but her. He's our best stud, so we use him with other mares but not her. She doesn't have the bloodline requirements we need. Every day they are at that corner, talking back and forth, smelling each other's scent, rubbing their faces together."

Her mere presence simply irritates him. At the stable, they chose a good horses to ride on. Cristel ride with Alec for she doesn't know how to ride a horse. They chose to ride Alec's horse- Thunder Storm. It was a beautiful black stallion and it was the child of Black Tornado and Belle. She remember owning the horse the moment he knew that it was the decendant of Black Tornado. Guess he was that really fascinated to Black Tornado. She don't know why he named him Thunder Storm but the animal fits it's name for it was strong and storm like a thunder. He even hired a personal trainer for the stallion that even he was away from the hacienda, he can make sure he was well taken care of.

The stallion shifts slightly, then relaxes again. There’s something calming about that. “You look better,” Lily says. “I feel better.” It’s true. The noise in my head is quieter out here. For a few moments, I just stand there, letting myself focus on something simple. Something real. “What are you naming it?” Lily asks. I hadn’t thought about it properly before. I look at the stallion, at the way it holds itself, steady and sure, like it doesn’t need anything from anyone. “Mar,” I say.

He said with a puffed out chest and proud tone. Among the horses, there was Septa, a spirited mare with a coat that mirrored the vibrant colors of a sunrise. Her mane and tail flowed like liquid fire, weaving a tapestry of brilliance as she galloped through the meadows. By her side was Midnight, a stallion with a coat as dark as the night sky, adorned with stars that glimmered with a celestial glow. In a corner stall stood labroha, a gentle mare with a coat as pure as moonlight itself. She possessed an ethereal beauty that captivated all who gazed upon her, and her presence radiated a soothing calmness that whispered of forgotten secrets.

Vance let out a soft laugh. The stallions were picked for their aggressiveness and were then bred for war where the hostile tendencies were trained, focused and enhanced for both the horse and the rider. Vance stroked the velvety nose of his mount, narrowly missing the snapping teeth once again before turning and nodding curtly to his companion.

White fences enclosed pastures where thoroughbreds grazed, unaware their futures were as uncertain as the family that owned them. Emily stood in the main stable, surrounded by the scents of hay and leather that had defined her happiest moments for decades. The listing agent followed, making notes while a photographer captured images. "The breeding program records should be included in the sale," the agent said. "They add tremendous value. You've produced seven Derby contenders in the last decade." Emily nodded mechanically, her eyes fixed on Monarch's Legacy, her prized stallion. The horse nickered as she approached, recognizing the woman who had raised him from a foal.

"I mean, I guess you must have before you laid out all the bucks for this place." "I've been doing my research for years," he reminded them. "This was always my dream. Now it's coming true. Shook my mind, though, to find out how that number varies. But, for right now, I've got two high-value stallions and four mares of the same quality." "So, how does this breeding thing work?" Dylan asked. "You just turn 'em loose and let them go at it?" "Hell, no. You wouldn't believe what all goes into it. In fact, before I even bought the stallions, my vet tested their motility to be sure they were worth the money."

"Yes." "There's someone I want you to meet," Adam said with a smile. He whistled loudly, and then I heard a thunderous neigh. I looked in the direction of the sound and saw a beautiful stallion running towards us. Its coat was shiny black, and its mane looked just as black and silky. As it ran, I could see its muscles flex as it gracefully ran towards us. The stallion stopped running as it reached the fence. I was amazed by its height. As it relaxed, I could see just how defined its muscles were. It nudged its head against Adam, pushing him back slightly.
