I had a school assignment to complete, but Knox brought me to Maddox’s dad’s sprawling equestrian facility, where they trained fine breeds for sale and races. “We’ll just pick up Maddox and go.” We stood at the riding arena, watching the trainers at work, when someone caught my attention. I turned to watch a Greek God-like guy training a black stallion effortlessly. The guy was stunning with his dark hair and muscled, tanned bare torso on full display. He stood out amongst all, pulling me towards him like a magnet. Watching him somehow made me feel he was aware of my gaze on him. It seemed he was putting on a show for me!

“Very true. Okay, take me there so I can see what our staff are made of.” We walk side by side in comfortable silence until we reach the pen where all the men are gathered to watch as the new stallion is broken in. He is a good size for a three yearling, easily sixteen hands possibly a touch more. He is a tan and brown colour with a dark patch on his nose, and highly spirited.

I liked to think it was her way of hugging me. “Fiona is a very good, gentle horse.” “What’s a boy horse?” I winced, not sure how to explain the details of that one. I was not about to tell the little boy about the castration of a male horse. That was a conversation left for his father. “Well, a young boy horse is sometimes called a gelding. An older, adult boy horse is sometimes called a stallion.”

There wasn't any other available vehicle since Heron had taken the sports car; he must have been given a task by Senyor Saturnino. It turned out that the horse stable was quite far from the estate. We passed by fields of rice, which seemed vast. Lazarus mentioned that we could have walked the distance from the estate to the horse stable, but he didn't want to because of the heat and dust. When we arrived at the location of the horse stable, I was left speechless. There were at least two stables, each consisting of ten stalls. One stable was for male horses, or stallions. They would use the stallions for breeding.

It didn’t take long for him to realize that Stallion was the nickname she had given him, most likely from the night before, warming his heart. A stallion typically describes a man who is seen as strong, attractive, confident, and sexually active or virile. Roger caught up to her as she entered the shower, her cheeks blushing like a deer caught in the daylight. “Stallion, huh?" he whispered in her ear, his deep morning voice causing her to shiver in his arms.

I called, voice low but commanding. The guard posted near the stairs straightened like he’d been caught dozing. “Sir?” “Get two horses ready in the stable. I want them warmed up in fifteen. I’m heading out for a ride.” He didn’t question it. “Yes, sir. Any preference?” “Warbred stallions. The fast ones. Not the ones you give to the pampered council members.” He nodded and turned away briskly. I walked down the hall, boots thudding lightly against the polished floors. I didn’t make a sound otherwise. Both their fathers were in the corral coaching him along the little ride. He chose the 8month old Friesian Colt a day ago when his father Killian told him it was time to get his own horse.
