Choosing her heart
It appears that we’ve been able to open quite a few of the cells, wolves standing scared and confused together near the end of the hallway.
I follow myself, realizing how strange it is to be watching myself from an outside perspective right now.
My future self stops abruptly, my hand flying over my mouth. I followed my gaze and was met with Parker’s eyes. They are not focused on my current self, but future me.
Reading his face, it’s shock, but also, pain, hurt, and anger.
I think that my heart stops momentarily seeing him.
My future self reaches up, typing in a code from a paper. Slowly, the door to Parker’s cell opens up and we both just stand there frozen, staring at one another.
