Mated to the Night Wolf
the word is a gasp against my lips.
"I think that I need someone to see," I whisper in realization.
Finally turning, I look at her, my fists loosening, until my fingers simply hang loose.
Her warm gaze collides with mine.
Deep inside she does what I've always feared from the moment I commanded her to.
She sees.
My soul, as if through a window. Read front to back like an open book.
To the very depth, the darkness but also the worst sorrow and all the unbearable loneliness. I know that it is deep and most cannot carry and this why they choose to look away.
