“I thought I’d find the results here.”
Kael didn’t respond right away. He lifted the page instead, holding it in the air, letting her see but not touch.
“They confirmed it,” he said finally, voice even, almost hollow. “The child is mine.”
Her gaze flicked down, scanning the words quickly. There was no shock, no raw relief—only the faintest shimmer of satisfaction that she didn’t even bother to hide.
“Of course he is,” she murmured, stepping closer. “I told you that already.”
