As he ran, he picked up the fallen warhammer and leapt forward. He reached Wurven just as the man reached Ale, winding up a horizontal slice that Ale would have no chance to dodge. The only thing visible was his lower jaw and his hair, a mane of golden lock that felt almost to his waist.

He stepped forward, slicing through the tension with a single word. "Viona?" I froze. My pulse, steady seconds ago, slammed into a panicked drumbeat. I gripped the hilt of my sword tighter, willing my voice to stay steady. "Sir?" His eyes narrowed. "Take off the helmet." My breath caught. Around me, soldiers paused. Conversations still. The clinking of steel dulled. No one moved. I hesitated for only a heartbeat-then reached up and tugged off the iron helmet. My sweat-slicked hair, now shoulder-length, fell around my face.

Soon enough I was almost surrounded by bulking men dressed in chainmail carrying swords. There was one man leading and the only one in gold chainmail. These people sure do like gold. His movements were firm and hard. He walked with authority and power. The guy snatched off his helmet of revealing a handsome scruffy face and dark hair. All the men with him dropped to one knee saying “your majesty” prideful to Celeste, while he simply placed his right fist to his heart.

Sage felt a burning pain in his arms and legs as he struggled against the Askelon shackles, to no use. He hung there, on the huge Askelon cross, his arms bound on either side of them, his legs tied below, and looked out and saw thousands of his kind, more of his people than he’d ever seen gathered in one place, all swarming around the grand hall in Boldt Castle. It was an immense hall, hundreds of feet high, shaped in an arch, and they swarmed about in agitated chaos, some of them buzzing through the air, others pacing the ground, while Sage hung there, in the center, an object of display and scorn.

Seeing his decapitated head sent a chill down my spine. “Are you alright, my lady?” Hideyoshi offered his hand to help me stand up. I shook my head and told him I couldn’t stand. Nobunaga came rushing towards me.

Rather than straining her ears to hear the rider's words, she found it safer to sit on the motorcycle seat.

Just then, the armored Askari with the large gun raised it toward him as Orchid cried in alarm. In a flash, Shango was beside him, he tore the gun forcefully from the Askari, the arm strapped to the weapon coming away with it, the Askari screamed as he saw the bloody stump that was his arm but his cry of pain was soon cut off abruptly as Shango grabbed his helmeted head and squeezed, popping it like water melon.
