She said I was a sacrifice, why would she say I was a sacrifice then? Is he being for real?

“She could barely eat.” “She’s going to be okay,” she added, sounding almost sincere. I nodded anyway, knowing Dad would be home soon, likely stirring chaos as usual. “I’m going to go see my mom now. Thank you.” I turned to leave, but my stepmother’s hand wrapped around mine. Her cunning eyes gleamed. “My sweet girl, don’t forget to renew the rent before the month ends. As you promised.” Her smile was forced and false. But I nodded anyway, handing her the cash from my pocket. Instantly, she released me, her gaze locked greedily on the twenty thousand dollar notes.

Momma huffed and puffed, as she finally caught up with me. “You managed to ruin the day for me, I don’t understand why we came to meet her in the first place?” “Because I wanted to know what she was up to? Back home, I could easily keep an eye on her but now!” Momma replied explaining... But I was in no mood to understand. Cutting her off, I rattled angrily, “well well, my own mother couldn’t stop gushing over my step-sister’s happiness knowing that she stole her real’s daughter’s potential husband!!! In fact, why don’t you walk her down the aisle?” I sarcastically asked Mary.

” Then I brushed her hair away from her face and said, ” But since your mom is sick and she cannot come here, I’ll be your mother in the meantime. ”Are you going to be that evil stepmother just like in Cinderella?” she innocently asked. How can I be mad at her? She is so cute and adorable. I can never hate her just because she is the result of the betrayal done to me by my cousin and by Stuart. ”Of course not,” I sat beside her, ”I love your mom not only because she is my cousin but because we grew up together.” ”So,” she lowered her head, ”are you going to play like my substitute mom while mommy is away?”

“No I am not the one but I know it doesn't belong to you either so why will you be taking what is not yours? Don't you know that's stealing or have you now become a thief, huh?" Though I don't like her one bit, I can't deny that my step mom is very smart. Her smartness and corniness is the reason why she has been able to deceive and manipulate my father that she is the most wonderful wife and mother all these years without him having a clue of her true nature.

She gets on my nerves and brings out the worst in me. I bounced Chloe on my knee as I tried to pacify her but she would not stop crying.
