The chain brushed my skin, cool and soft, and for a second I almost laughed at myself for expecting more. Then I opened it, expecting to see a picture of him or something but the world went quiet. There was a gem inside, a gem that seemed to be breathing slow, hypnotic pulses of color shifting beneath the crystal, midnight blue bleeding into violent violet, silver sparks flickering like trapped starlight.

At the center, a stone pedestal holds a glowing orb, pulsating with light. Gemini approaches cautiously, her heart pounding in her chest. “This must be what we were meant to find,” she says, reaching out toward the orb.
