Randell stands Still for quite a while, shocked. He can’t believe that Jonathan will imprison himself inside the book. Why would he do that? What is that he is planning? Knowing Jonathan, every action that he made -even in the face of adversity- always leads to something. He can’t believe it, somehow Jonathan still outwitted him even in the last second, just when he thought that he already got him, but he is mistaken. No matter, he thought, even though Jonathan escaped him, in the end, he still left the book. Never him, whatever he is planning, I can deal with it later, for now, what matters is he got the book.

I heard him sighed with satisfaction on his face before he looked up to me again, "I'll get ice for your knees. They might get swollen later." I nodded at Ezekiel before he stood up and turned his back on me. His every movement was fast, like he didn't want me to follow him. When Ezekiel left, I glanced over at the book on the only standee at the corner. What was that? It looks so thick, old, and very special to have its own standee.

Romy Pov I was standing on the upper landing, the cold iron railing biting into my palms as I stared down at the black-and-white marble of the great entrance. I held a book, some leather-bound history of the Northern territories, but I hadn’t turned a page in forty minutes. My mind was a mess of exit routes and the lingering, phantom heat of Rowan’s touch from the night before. The heavy front doors groaned open and two men entered.

“I really can’t believe I’m inside the novel I’d written. All of this doesn’t seem to be sinking in my mind yet and I’m having a hard time accepting it. What will happen now? Everything from this point onwards will be a whole lot new experience.” “Aargh, but before that” stomach grumbles- “I should probably head back now and make dinner, I’ve been here for a couple of hours now, is it still dark back at the house?” Standing at the highest peak on the mountain, his eyes grew bright as he sees the beautiful scenery in front of him.

I focus on my breath, my heartbeat—a slow, steady rhythm pulsing through me. The sun against my skin is intoxicating. Almost as good as Aiden’s touch. A large shadow suddenly blocks my sun. I crack one eye open and find Aiden standing in front of me, flanked by Noah, Daniel, and David—who’s awkwardly leaning on crutches. Aiden holds something out. I frown. “What’s this?” “Your book,” he says with a shrug. “Book two. As long as I get the first one back—these losers want to read it.”
