He had one eye and a slash mark running over the part of his face where an eye was supposed to be. A smile that looked entirely too pleased to see me. Wonderful. Exactly the sort of person I expected to find running this place. "What can I get for you, miss?" he asked cheerfully. His voice sounded surprisingly normal. I walked toward the counter. "I need a book." The old man chuckled. "You're in luck." He spread both arms dramatically. "I happen to have several." I stared at him. He stared back. Then his grin widened. "Which particular book are you looking for?"

The girl swallowed and said, "What help." The man took a book out from his coat and handed it over: "Help me see what this book says." The girl took it and glanced down. The cover was clean and neat, and there was no title. The girl felt confused, but she still opened the first page. When she saw what was inside, she looked even more flustered, and the book in her hand fell to the ground with a bang. The man saw that and laughed, showing his white teeth: "Is this Book of Death any good?"

Adam glanced back down at the page, a faint smirk returning. “Man handled it though,” he murmured. “Didn’t panic, didn’t fumble it… just stayed in it.” He closed the book halfway again, shaking his head with a quiet chuckle. “Still… that’s not for everybody,” he added. “Takes a certain kind of mindset to even step into something like that.” He looked at the cover for a second, then back at the pages. “This book really doesn’t miss,” he said under his breath. I laughed at this answer. "Dad, didn't you say the other day that you were feeling weak?" Mario suddenly looked at him. "You ungrateful son. I feel weak because of the amount of work I do.” He noticed Lilia on the side and spoke. “Lilia, why don't you help the maids prepare food? You're a woman; you should help in the kitchen." Lilia immediately froze in place. "Yes, Dad." He clenched his fist because of what Mario told him. It only means one thing: for Mario, the head of the family, he is no different from the maids.

I mutter, looking at my foot, which was hit by some sort of book. I lift my foot and give it a light massage with my hands before picking up the book. As I read its title, "FAREWELL TO HUMANITY," I remember the events: mountain, rock, handsome man, fainting, handsome man, book, handsome man... Yeah, lots of events. I'm not doing well; I barely left home and I've already gotten myself into trouble, cursed mountain. Still lost in recent events, I run my finger over the couple on the book's cover, and for some reason, Deniel's image comes to mind, causing a small (very small) smile to form on my lips. He's so handsome and masculine.
