"Will you come out of here so I can change? " " Yes of course it's your closet in your room, who am I to stop you".But I didn't move a single inch. He nodded to the door of the closet and said "Move NOW". I quickly get out of the closet and was trying to open the bedroom door. When the lock did not budge I began to bang the door. " Hey somebody open this door. Anyone can hear me? I am stuck here. Let me out". "If you keep banging on my door like a psycho baboon then the whole pack will be here in a minute".

A faint white glow clung to the ceiling, casting eerie shadows in every corner. With a racing heart, I scanned the room as I stepped further inside. It resembled a dressing room with scattered training equipment, dimly lit shower stalls, and rows of lockers. Most of the lights were turned off as if no one was inside. I took a step back, maybe he wasn't here... The door clicked shut behind me which made me swiftly turn. The door had locked on its own as it was an automated locking system. A lump formed in my throat as I realized I was trapped.

Lila's POV I banged my fist on the door for the upteenth time. Three hours had passed and being under room arrest was making me lose my mind. The sound of my knuckles hitting the wood echoed back at me, but no one answered. I was stuck and confined in the four walls of my room. There were no footsteps, no voices. Nothing. I had lost count of much I had been knocking because I had been repeating the same action for the past hours. The only thing I observed was the silence that mocked me every time I knocked.

“Don’t say a word. Just stay alive. That’s all you have to do.” He shoves me back into the room. The door slams shut. The lock clicks into place. I sink to the cold floor, the image of that bloodstain still burning behind my eyes.

Then silence. I was alone. I stood in the center of the room, breathing hard, my whole body shaking with adrenaline. The room was large. Luxurious, even. A massive bed. Expensive furniture. Windows that showed gardens beyond. But the windows had bars. And the door was locked from the outside. A gilded cage. I walked to the nearest window. Grabbed the bars. Pulled. They didn’t budge. I tried the door. Locked. Obviously. I was trapped.

What ER? I tried to call his name, but my thoughts were tangled, thick as if my skull had been filled with lead. "Must we do this, Mr. Terrason? Your wife is…" The man hesitated. I sensed the unease in his voice. "Just proceed as planned. No questions." I couldn't breathe. Something was crushing my chest. What was Samuel talking about? What plan? The air reeked of antiseptic. I was on a hospital bed, harsh lights stabbing through my closed eyelids.

"He’s in the room at the end of the hall. Room 402. He’s been asking for you since he woke up, but the doctors wanted to stabilize you first." I didn't wait. I ripped the IV out of my arm, ignoring the sting and the small droplets of blood. I swung my legs over the bed, my head spinning, but I didn't care. I stood up, leaning heavily on the wall, and started to limp toward the door. "Riven, wait! You aren't supposed to be walking!" Stiles called out, but he was smiling as he followed me. I made it to Room 402. My hands were shaking so hard I could barely turn the handle. I pushed the door open slowly.

"You ignored me when I called you, and now you slap me in the face!" I widened my eyes like I was clueless. "Huh? You called me? I didn’t hear." Then, I deliberately plucked out my wireless earbuds, even though no music was playing. "Maybe I was listening to music." Rachel froze, grinding her teeth. "You did it on purpose." The other two roommates jumped in right away. "Lila, were you deliberately ignoring Rachel?" "Are you still mad? She only left you out because she thought you were busy with Student Office work. You totally twisted her intentions."

I turned and writhed in the large bed until I found the energy to stand up. The very unfamiliar room was tactfully decorated with large wooden furniture and floor length curtains that blocked sunlight from entering the room. Aside the standard decoration, there was nothing else. Nothing to give me a clue as to who owned the room I was in. No pictures or paintings or even a jacket or sweater. I sighed and said a short prayer as I grabbed the shiny doorknob.. Locked. I really need to find a way to stop getting locked in. I yanked the door knob severally, my frustration rising each passing minute.

The guards used a keypad next to room 3202, and the door sprung open. I was unceremoniously dumped on the floor. “Good luck,” the thug chuckled then closed the door behind him. I waited three beats, listening for their retreating footsteps down the hall, then wriggled over to the door and used it to help me sit up. I jiggled the handle, but it was no use. Whatever this room was, it was locked from the outside. I leaned back against the door, wondering how long I could barricade myself in using just my body.
