My only chance to survive was to outrun them until I was safe. I ran through the forest, leaping over fallen logs of wood and agilely avoiding trees in the path. My heart thundered in my chest as I ran for my life, adrenaline coursing through my veins and making me run faster than I had ever done in my life. I could hear them shouting at me to stop, but I paid them no heed and continued to run, my determination to survive fueling my energy. But my eyes widened in panic and I stumbled to a halt when I saw that I was in front of a dead end. In my panic, I had run straight towards the cliff on the northern edge of the forest. Shit!

I would sneak to get some fruits for us so we would survive, but I never wandered too far to even consider escaping because they had men at each end of the forest so wherever we tried escaping from, we would meet one of the men who would kill us. Any movement in the forest could lead the others into thinking that I’m the predator, coming after them for prey. But the boar is faster than me. In a straight, open space, it would overtake me in a minute. Only by zigzagging through the forest do I stand any chance of survival at all. My ankle pounds, still not fully healed. Every step sends a shock of pain running up through my legs. The beast pants as it gives chase. If I were to collapse now, I’d surely be trampled and most likely gored. This boar could kill me. Even if I survive, I might never be the same.

The explosion tears through the forest, a burst of heat and fire erupting in the darkness. The shockwave slams into me like a physical force and knocks the air from my lungs. The ground trembles beneath my feet as flames roar to life, licking up the trees. The blast illuminates the night in an instant, casting flickering shadows. The pack scatters, dodging falling embers and diving for cover as smoke curls into the air. For a split second, there’s nothing but ringing in my ears. Muffled shouts. The distant snap of branches. The crackling of fire eating through the dry leaves.

“So, how are we gonna survive in the forest without fire, food or anything that can help us?” We were settled near a tree. Durian, Kary and Louis didn’t leave us. Instead, they sat a few distances from us. I didn’t trust them so I wouldn’t tell them my plan. Still, I had to include them in small talks. Before we got into the forest, they checked us thoroughly and removed anything we had. Even their phones were confiscated. “I can deal with that. We’re wolves so we should follow our instinct. There are deer around. We’ll hunt.”

I muttered to myself. And then I crawled my way through the woods, moving from one tree to the other. A shiver ran down my spine as I thought about how I would be able to survive here in the woods, without food and water. I moved through the woods, as far as my legs could carry me without even looking back to delay myself. As to getting away from them all happened to be the main thing I had in mind. And then, luckily for me, I found a shelter. I guess someone must have made a tent down here a long time ago in hiding.

On weekend, this place would be crowded with visitors. Going for the second view, they could see a miniature of biome of certain forests. Not only the scenery but there were also domestic animals living in that biome. Virginia looked so amazed because it was her first time to see those unique animals.
