She blinked her eyes as she finally registered Victor crouching down in front of her with worry written all over his face. “Wh-“ she tried to say but only sound that come out of her mouth was wheezing of air as she choked on a sob. That was her sobs that were ringing on her ears before she was the one that was crying pathetically.

The floodgates opened, and I was consumed by a torrent of grief. I sobbed uncontrollably, my body shaking with each ragged breath. Tears streamed down my face, hot and salty, as I wailed in anguish.
