Clein's eyes widened. A gurgling sound escaped his lips. Blood bubbled up, spilling over his chin. His body convulsed, fingers twitching—then stilling. Tales twisted the blade. “And I’m not yours.” Then he yanked it out. The head hit the floor with a dull thud. Silence. Tales stared at the blood pooling around Clein's lifeless form. His hands were shaking, but he didn’t feel weak. He felt—free.

“You think I’m crazy, but that’s the only explanation that makes sense.” I scoffed. “You sound like a conspiracy theorist. Vampires don’t exist, and you’ve got to stop reading all those fantasy books.” Before she could say anything else, I grabbed another slice of toast and breezed out of the apartment. My condolences to the victims, but vampire attacks were just so stupidly unrealistic. Like creatures of the night actually existed. Right, sure. “Mr. Vale’s not in right now.” Celine said at the reception, looking me up and down.

While she was looking for answers to her questions, something caught her eye. "A black cape? Long-sleeved white shirt? And a red bow?” Cyrille's eyes begin to widen. "This is how a vampire dresses in classic Dracula films!" she exclaimed. “Oh my—” She couldn't finish her words and immediately covered her mouth to keep from shouting. Unable to dampen my restlessness, I quickly went to my computer and turned it on. I typed the word 'vampire' on the internet and found so many things. It was a mythical creature that lived by feeding on the vital essence of the living. Some sites said that vampires were humans who had resurrected from the dead. There was a site that said a person could become a vampire when a cat jumped over the person's dead corpse. I also read that they were the authors of mischief, they don't reproduce and they die by getting pierced by sharp objects or by getting exposed to the sunlight.

SARAH'S POV I sat there in the cold dark alley for quite a while and not even a rat passed by, I was starting to get scared when I heard faint laughter, more like a chuckle from afar.
