LIGHT AFTER DARK

LIGHT AFTER DARK

Lara met dark golden eyes that melted every bone in her body. “Let’s just run away from home for a minute or two… Let’s leave our problems behind for a while! I want to forget Ambergris Cay and its occupants for one afternoon… I just want to be with you, Lara. I want to lose myself in you.” Christophe pushed back the golden hair curving her cheekbones and framed her uncertain face with both hands. “Chris… We can’t…” she whispered trying to avoid his lethal gaze. “Look at me, sweetheart… Look into my eyes…” he urged her, caressing her flushed cheekbones with his thumbs.

The story starts with a good prologue where the main character defines herself as the son of the family. While reading I thought it was one of those stories that I could predict what would happen next which wasn't the case. It surprises you in a positive way. Catchy! Waiting for the next chapters!

The Stars No Longer Shine for You

The Stars No Longer Shine for You

" Silently, I looked at her angry expression. "He's gone—gone with the baby." The nurse covered her mouth, looking apologetic. "I'm sorry." I smiled and shook my head, but my gaze fell on Chloe Bennett's latest social media post. In it was a man with a cigarette between his lips. He was shirtless, his sculpted abs illuminated under dim lighting. His head was lowered, one hand unbuckling his belt—impatient, almost desperate. The caption read, "When the earthquake struck, he rushed to me without hesitation. The fireworks in the sky bore witness—from that moment on, we belonged to each other."

Dark of Night

Dark of Night

“Bingo.” I set my eyes on it and walk right through, emerging into a narrow hall. The blue light glows above me, reflecting off the metal bars of an old-fashioned jail cell. Something glows from within, and I have to move a few steps closer before I realize it’s a UV heat lamp, much like one you’d put in a reptile cage. “Dina,” I say, seeing her outline huddled against the back of the cell, shielding her face from the UV light. She looks up and the skin on her cheeks chars.

“Could it be… a star?” “No!” Tara exclaimed, shaking her head. “Stars don’t fly without wings.” “Think, Damien,” Claud encouraged. “It’s something that brings light.” Suddenly, a memory flashed before him—a moment in the woods when he had gazed at the moonlight filtering through the trees, the way it brightened the darkness around him. “Wait… I’ve got it!” he exclaimed. “It’s… a firefly!” A moment of silence enveloped the clearing. The glowing orb flared brightly, illuminating the statues and surrounding trees. “Correct,” the voice intoned, and the orb pulsed gently. “You have proven yourself worthy. The path to the haven is now open.”

Golden Luna

Golden Luna

Where a man had once stood, now a great black werewolf crouched, snarling, his teeth bared dangerously. Suddenly something clicked open in my mind, like a window shutter. Suddenly I could hear Alexander's thoughts, filtering into my own head like sunlight through that open window, the thoughts directed at the snarling wolves in front of him. Touch her, and I'll tear you apart, he seemed to say. Then he turned his regal head to me. Get behind me, he said through the wave of thoughts, and my eyes widened. "What?" I whispered. Get behind me, Elaine. Now!

Clouded By The Stars: New Moon

Clouded By The Stars: New Moon

With a loud growl the phantom of the wolf charged towards the moon and swallowed it whole! *BOOM* Once the moon was swallowed the stars began to quake, and the space began to collapse. Kylie felt her head split open as a strong pain struck her head. She felt as though someone was hammering information into her head, information that was vital, yes, but painful to incorporate. As the space fell apart, the stars fled, leaving only the Sovereign Stars and the Chosen Stars behind. Those seven celestial bodies flickered faintly as though observing Kylie’s actions, before finally surrounding her, and providing her some cover. Kylie’s eyes were shut in pain, her brows furrowed in distress and hurt.
