After that, she picked up the bowl and scooped up some soup before she blew on it lightly and held it up to his lips. Mason smiled at her. Summer felt flustered by his gaze and snapped at him, "Hurry up!" He obediently drank the soup. "How does it taste?" Summer looked up at him expectantly. "It's so good. This is the best soup I've ever had in my life. Thank you," Mason immediately praised.

"O-Of course. We're friends." Satisfied with my response, Bethany finally let go of my arm and followed me inside. I opened the door, but the office was pitch-black. "Dad, these are the friends I mentioned, the ones coming to work here for the summer," I said cautiously. Before I could introduce them, they pushed past me and crowded into the room. "Hello, Mr. Parker. We're here for the summer jobs. May I know what the pay is like? Is ten thousand dollars a month okay? Oh, and I'm not really into factory work. Can I get an office job instead?"

Time had flown past so fucking quickly. Summer had chosen an unconventional college that allowed their art students to graduate much earlier, unlike other colleges, if the student was exceptional, and her big exam was coming up. Lifting her hand to me, she held out a spoon full of the ice cream with a wink, a silent invitation….a fucking temptation.

His body trembled, but then he hugged me back tightly. … In two more days, the interns would be leaving. Before leaving, Dexter asked me to go to the amusement park with him. I had never been to an amusement park in my life because I had always thought it was too childish. We played all day. At the end of the day, although we were tired, it felt like we had not had enough fun yet. Fireworks went off, and couples everywhere started kissing. Dexter embraced me and kissed me as well. After the kiss, he looked at me deeply and said, "Babe, I really like you. Let's be together."

I reply with a wide grin and squeeze her unhurt knee. “Thank you, that is sweet of you, and I appreciate it.” she kisses my cheek before taking a sip of her wine, “So what brings you here for the summer?” she asks. I turn to look at her, and she is watching me, “I needed to get away from my hectic life.” I shrug. I didn’t want to go into detail. “Maybe we can keep each other company this summer?” she suggests, “Yes, sounds perfect. And once you feel better, we can swim in the lake.” She used to love swimming in the lake.

The two acted as if they had already reconciled in front of Chrismith's family. The next day, Chris and Nica left early for a free taste cake and to choose what to use for their wedding. "I like this one!" A dimple appeared on Chris's cheek as he smiled and stared at Nica. She was like a child that has just tasted that kind of cake. "Why are you being like that as you look at me?" Before answering, Chris removed a few strands of her hair that covered her cheek. "You look like a child while eating a cake." He said as if it was a joke.

I heaved a sigh of relief when Aiden left me and sat down. “You. Why are you still standing?” The teacher asked. I realized he was talking to me. “Oh, uhm…” “She’s new,” the blond girl that had warned me of Aiden said. She stood up and led me to the only other empty seat in the class which was two rows in front of the Aiden’s row. “Welcome to Summer Valley High,” the teacher said coldly. He was probably not paid enough. ***

"Preliminaries start in summer in Japan. If we are unable to attend, you can stay a little longer to see the start of the Spring Tournament." His eyes widened, then he broke into a small smile. "Thank you." It's not that he was opposed to going back to Japan, nor didn't he want to go either. There was just something unsettling for him to go back without a proper memory of what happened. He was rather afraid of the responses he would get.

She had no idea what the night would bring, but she was eager to find out. As they flew over the ocean, Lexi couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder and awe.
