I closed my eyes, and this one time, just this one time, I threw caution to the wind, and let my heart take control. It was I who reached for him. My hand sought his face, and as I blinked my eyes open, I could see the desire in his eyes. I blinked them back shut, and brought my lips to his slowly. A single lone tear flowed down my cheeks and I let it fall. This type of tears didn't come from sadness. The kiss was beautiful. I was home. His lips glided over mine with a slow precision, and he drew closer to me, placing a hand at the small of my back. I leaned into his big body and placed a hand on his chest.

I crumbled, tears streaming down my face as he held me, whispering reassurances into my hair and placing occasional kisses on my neck. Gradually, the raging emotions inside me calmed. He lifted my chin, our eyes locking. The love in his gaze was undeniable, soothing the ache in my chest. He kissed my tear-stained cheeks, first the right, then the left, his tenderness grounding me. The chauffeur turned on the car and the stereo, and then came Nikky Minaj, while he glided into the long road. “You know one good thing about black guys in Guts Island?”.
