The Rutherford Series

The Rutherford Series

"Since it's not Friday, and that was your reasoning then, what is it today?" "An amazing weekend." Faith told them of her excursions west—minus their time with Paul—and how romantic her husband was. Jed was glad she had a great time, and Ashlynn was envious. "I wish I could find a man like that." "By the way, Cherish called in sick," Jed said with a smile on his face as he spoke. Faith laughed. "Of course she did. It's Monday."

Inevitably Captivated

Owen changes his opinion, making me giggle. “Yeah, so we’re eating your mum’s food tomorrow. Great! Can’t wait for tomorrow to come!” Lisa exclaims. Sometimes all that you may need in life is a good laugh with your friends. Having a good time with them can be the cure for all the stress you’ve experienced throughout the week. Luckily, I’ve got amazing friends that I can always depend on to lift me up whenever I feel down. They’re one of the blessings in my life.

Angel Diaries {Mystic Realms 1}

Angel Diaries {Mystic Realms 1}

Sal shouted, scooting across the floor. "Worm?" Elysium perked up, his birdy nature showing. "Bite me and I'll cook you into a chicken," Sal growled. Distracted, I laughed. Ally urged them to keep me laughing. "Good, I'm doing everyone a favor by making her laugh." He continued being silly and making jokes. "Hey, why can't Jesus eat M&M's?" Everyone looked around, very confused. "They'd fall through the holes in his hands." He looked around, only me laughing. "What's the difference between death and taxes?" Still more confusion as to why he was acting this way. "Both are inevitable but at least death doesn't get worse."

The Day She Stopped Waiting

The Day She Stopped Waiting

God. Joining in. Fair. Becoming someone. Reasonable honestly. For the next hour Lily turned herself into a professional comedian. God. Everything became material. Fair. Faces. Voices. Reasonable. Falling over dramatically. God. Pretending to trip. Fair. Making animal sounds. Reasonable honestly. Peanut rewarded most of it with laughter. God. Tiny wonderful laughter. Fair. The house had never sounded happier. Reasonable. Then later, after the excitement settled, Lily sat beside her sister quietly.

10 chapters in and I hope it’s second chance book. I love a good “leaving my shitty husband for a better man” plot but sometimes I love a good “I need to get my wife back” plot as well. Sometimes I want to read about how a relationship was pulled back from the brink and I feel this is goi to be it.

Just for Fun, He Said

Just for Fun, He Said

He was her loyal knight, pouring her wine and serving her food, all the ruthless decisiveness of an Underboss erased. They were laughing and talking, and I was clearly not needed as a prop. I didn't want to waste any more time and looked for a chance to slip away. But Noa suddenly turned to me gracefully. "You must be Maeve. I've heard so much about you. The famous 'piano goddess of the underworld'." Caught off guard by being singled out, I quickly waved my hand. "Thank you, but that's an overstatement. Just some flattery from friends."

JUST LOVERS

JUST LOVERS

Just a little bit. "Mmm, let me look it up in my agenda. Let's see... Saturday's is already squared away. Sunday's too... Yep, Friday's free for you. Shall we meet at the same place? La Napolitana?" He exhaled a nasal laugh. "Very funny," he said in a different tone. He didn't like my dark humor, apparently, "I'm serious." Another one of my laughs launched there. "Okie... I won't joke like that again, Carl M."

She's back

She's back

It was magical. "Yeah, me too." Very true, I was glad to spend the Friday with him. It was a time of fun and fresh breath for me, away from Dante and his rubbish attempt at trying to make me do things for the "sake" of the company. "Ready for that amusement park dessert you talked about?"

37 Days

37 Days

It’s now Friday and I’ve gotten the first week officially over with. I’m completely defeated by the bullshit every day has brought on. Today is the day I meet up with Chase. It’ll be nice to see a familiar face and to leave this god-forsaken place for a few hours.

Catch Me

“Now get over here and help me eat this food. And grab me a soda, would you?” I tossed her the remote. “Find something you want to watch.” “Just not a chick flick. I want something funny tonight. Something that’ll make us laugh so hard we’re scared of throwing our pizza back up.” I opened the fridge. “I hear Trevor Noah’s new standup is hysterical.” “Oh, Trevor Noah it is, then.”

I frown, and he grins. “What do you mean?” I ask and check my phone. What the.... “Fuck It’s Friday!” I exclaim, and he chuckles. “I will drop you home if that’s what you are worried about..” I redden with embarrassment and mumble, “Thanks... I... I wasn’t thinking when I came here... You probably needed some time alone... I am sorry...” “Don’t be... It means a lot that you came to see me.”

This book is exceptional. There are some errors, but nothing so horrible to take away from a great story. The plot has great development, characters are well though-out with great backstories. A couple of loose ends, but I’m super happy with the ending for our protagonists. Waiting for the sequels!
