The abyss was right there—just a few more strides. I pushed harder, my feet pounding against the earth. The trees opened up, revealing the jagged cliffs of the Silver Abyss. The ground dropped off sharply, a chasm of darkness stretching endlessly below. My vision blurred with crimson hues, the curse overtaking my senses, but I forced my legs to carry me forward. With one final burst of energy, I jumped. The air rushed past me, cold and biting against my burning skin. For a moment, I was weightless, suspended between the cursed energy threatening to consume me and the safety of the abyss.

Once, I stood on its highest spire and promised the stars I’d never come back. Promises. What fragile little lies. The ground trembles beneath me—not from my weight, but from what moves inside me. The Abyss didn’t just give back what I buried. It gave more. Too much. Every heartbeat now is a drumbeat of war, pulsing with power that hums in my teeth, my bones, my blood. The sky listens. Hands clawed at my skin, fingernails burrowing into my flesh, peeling it back like wet paper. Teeth sank into my shoulders, my neck, my face. I felt my own body split open. Warm, thick liquid oozed down my chest, a sharp, tearing sensation ripping through my stomach. Something wet and slimy spilled out of me, tugged free by eager fingers. I tried to fight. “I didn’t take those souls because I wanted to. I swear it. I needed strength. Just enough to protect myself. That place breaks you if you’re weak.” She looked up at him, eyes filled with fear. “I’ll serve you. I’ll work for you. Stay by your side. Anything. Just don't send me back, have mercy on me.” Asher said nothing. The silence pressed down hard, stretching longer than she could stand. Her breathing grew shallow. Then he spoke. “The Abyss,” he said slowly. “Where is it?” Her body went still. “Far,” she said. “Across the seas. Beyond places humans sail. Very far.”

Destination: unknown subterranean level. When the chute finally spat me out, I didn't roll blindly like some panicked civilian. I executed a perfect combat breakfall. I absorbed the bone – jarring impact against the cold, damp concrete with the heavy muscle of my back and shoulders. I slid to a halt, instantly rolling up onto one knee. My hands were raised in a defensive guard, my eyes scanning the pitch – black void. I was in the Abyss.

She screamed as she pulled on the chains harder than she did before, hoping to at least pull the bolts out of the wall, the sting from the silver getting worse. “You my dear, might be an experiment, you might also be my salvation.” His smile only got more frightening. He lunged at her with inhuman speed and dug his fangs into her neck. She remembered the initial sting of his teeth before she just felt overwhelmed with emotion before everything went black. The Vision seemed to skip again with the word Leviathan hanging heavy as it did.

Watching. His eyes didn’t blink. Didn’t waver. I was naked. Wet. Flushed. Fingers still between my thighs. He stepped forward. And I couldn’t breathe. --- End of Chapter One

His eyes—half gold, half black—burned with unyielding resolve. “I made a promise to bring her back… and I don’t break promises.” He stood, the blood around him coiling and twisting into vast wings. The crimson light of the Holy Gate reflected in his eyes—deep and cold as the abyss. “Open, Abyss,” he whispered, voice like a spell. “Take me to where she’s trapped.” A pillar of light engulfed him. --- The Primordial Abyss – Sea of Blood. Evelyn stood alone amidst the ruins. Then a figure appeared—Lucien, his black hair matted, cloak torn, eyes filled with both love and despair.

Immediately, he was pulled back into the air, and he started clawing at it, but it just dug deeper into him and slammed into the ground. “Return to the abyss, from whence you came.” An inky black pool appears underneath him and drags him down, down into the abyss, where few return from. Erebus wasn’t one of those few. His screams echoed all around but was cut short when the pool closed. The darkness dissipated and my father was gone. I was about to call out to the others when I saw something in the distance. The hill that was there, just before was now replaced with a giant ship that I recognised to be M’gethir’s. It was up in flames and I could see figures clambering out of the mess. Then
