He only had a few minutes left. Finally, Arth arrived in the entrance to the arena. It had a circular structure stone-made. Several flagpoles surrounded the arena, with the banners of Glacia flying with the wind, with small gardens on both sides of the entrance path. The whole place was already crowded with warriors, even knights, joining the tournament. His heart raced, chest pounding as he looked around, trying to find the registration. Then after seeing the desks, he hurried towards the only occupied one, where an old man was seated.

Inzo stood frozen on his spot as he took Ethan’s words sinking into his head. “W-what kind of arena was that, brother?” he asked widening his hazel eyes which filled with curiosity. He looked rather baffled and dumbfounded. “It was also known as the arena of death... The arena that looks similar to a huge cage wherein two persons are held to fight like wild animals for their life. The cage won't open until there's not a single individual declared as the winner.” Ethan explained helplessly keeping his pace back and forth.

Great call. The arena floor is arranged in levels. At the centre sits the fighting pit, what everyone here calls the Ring. It’s a square platform surrounded by thick ropes and metal barriers, something between a wrestling ring and a cage. Bright lights hang above it, illuminating every inch of the surface like a stage. Blood stains the mat, when I look closely I see that the stains are fresh. Crowds pack the surrounding seats, men and women shouting, betting, waving money in the air. That thought of sitting next to Lorenzo all night makes my stomach tighten.

The arena was packed full when Lillia arrived. It rose in layered stone tiers and was shaped like a mini Colosseum. Hung high above were coloured long banners carrying the Wolfsbane crest, all five in total. The colours of all the founding houses. Lillia thought as her gaze scanned the arena. Rows and rows of benches surrounded the arena, overlooking the battle beneath. Above the benches was a tent where the Elders and Ladies of the high court sat. And she stood at the entrance of this tent.

“See you soon, Zaiden.” The next morning, I let my warriors know that we’re heading back to the pack. I take a last look at the arena. The last one was smaller than ours. This one is giant with large, covered structures on opposite ends of the stadium. Because they are covered, I can’t see what they are, but I’m guessing it’s special seating for the super privileged. When we get home, Bastian is back. I’m surprised, but pleasantly so. I was planning to leave Galen in charge. Now I won’t have to.
