“Marilyn, don't be mad at me. I can explain my relationship with Serena. Do you remember the time I went out of town for work? “I got into some trouble back then, and Serena was the one who bailed me out. Since then, I swore to repay her…” I looked at him silently. “I'm no longer interested in your relationship with Serena. I don't care to know your reasons, either. “I'll say it again: We broke up. We're through.” After that, I turned to Anthony, who was looking at me through the crowd. His smile was encouraging. At that moment, I felt fully relaxed.

He asked me, ever so randomly. I furrowed my brows in confusion, finding it hard to remember. "You said 'I'm sorry Dean, but this is how we end'." He reminded me. I looked at him, still trying to understand why he made that reference. "And as time passed, and I started to heal," he went on, "I could think about our memories without feeling so much pain and there was a particular one that always crossed my mind." I paused for a brief moment before replying in a calm and peaceful manner, "Yeah, I won't be returning to the country. Please stop calling me, Zeke." I hung up the phone. I had basically severed all ties with him. I stared at the skyscrapers outside. From this point onward, Zeke Jones and I had nothing to do with each other. We would never cross paths ever again.
