He narrows his eyes, “Sure you're not trying to run away from me again?”
I shake my head in the negative, though my fingers were now getting moist with sweat–a reaction triggered by anxiety.
“I'm not running away from you. I'm just preparing for work,” I clarify, hoping he finally lets me go.
My thighs dampen as Scott tilts his head, and I feel another surge of heat around the back of my neck.
“It's Saturday, Mouse,” he says, his tone laced with suspicion.
