Mr Smith smiled and sipped a little of his drink. "You should wait for your death. They ended up sleeping under the stars with the tent half-standing like a sad flag. “I remember feeling safe,” Sofia said when she shared it at the next session. “Even when everything went wrong, I felt safe because you two were there.” Luca’s eyes glistened. He chose a memory from Sofia’s fifteenth birthday the surprise party Valentina had helped plan. Sofia had walked in to find the living room filled with fairy lights and her favorite people. Luca had baked the cake himself and burned the first two attempts. Valentina had stayed up all night making paper flowers.

The evening had been filled with pleasant surprises, and Georgina couldn't help but wonder what might come next. Georgina entered the house, and spotted Sofia sleeping peacefully in her bassinet near the couch, and her heart swelled with delight. She approached the bassinet, sat down close to Sofia, and softly whispered to her slumbering daughter, "My dear Sofie, Mama is home." Georgina's smile radiated love and warmth as she watched Sofia sleep. It was a comforting sight after an eventful evening.

Sofia tossed and turned in her big , comfortable bed, which seemed to be growing heavier by the minute. She rolled over into a different position and felt the cool breeze of the night air blowing through the open window. She was cold, but she couldn't remember when it started getting so cold. Maybe the nights had gotten even colder than usual lately, or it could have been that the temperature hadn’t quite risen all the way yet. It didn’t matter. Her body still felt numb from being awake for more than a few hours at a time.
